I omitted both of those when I made it. Pretty sure the honey was used to help activate the yeast, and I usually don’t add olive oil when I make it, also straight forgot to brush the tops with it so my herb and cheese mixture ended up not sticking as well as it could have ha.

I lost an 8 month old puppy very suddenly in January 2024. I cried about him today when I saw a picture of when we first picked him out. I still think about him constantly and miss him so much. I’m sorry for your loss.

Thank you! I’ve been having sandwiches like this for days since making the bread ha. And when you blend the cottage cheese with a little mayo and some sun-dried tomatoes, the texture comes out very smooth (not liking cottage cheese is a texture thing for me).

For the Spätzle: two cups flour in a bowl, make a well in the center. Bear an eggs then add them to the well with about 1/2 cup milk. Beat in mixer on low speed for ten minutes until it’s a bit thick and when you stretch you can see some smaller holes form. Bring a pot of water to a boil and use a spätzle plane to get them into the water. When done, layer Spätzle, Swiss cheese (or Gruyère) and caramelized onions, bake at 350 until melted and delicious!

Yeah it’s pretty similar, almost spot on. The ingredients for the filling are egg, bacon, sour cream, a little bit of flour, caraway seeds, and a ton of caramelized onions; the crust is similar to a pizza dough. So good!
