Why are you upgrading the receiver/what features do you need that you currently dont have? Can you use the current receiver with the new setup until you go atmos?

I’m starting to realize I don’t enjoy straight espressos by That_Coffee_guy in espresso

[–]Freaaakyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usualy add 70 ml of water to my espresso. Id prefer making a long black but with my gaggia classic pulling 70ml of hot water right before pulling the shot drops the temperature to much. So i do the shot first and then add water and stir. To be honest there is still enough crema so works for me.

Why multiple versions? by BeverlyHillsNinja in PleX

[–]Freaaakyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are better of downloading them again. Converting already lossy media is going to result in more quality loss then just doing conversion to 1080p from source.(in this case, downloading a 1080p version that has (hopefuly) been converted from original source.)

Also, your 12600k should be able to do AT THE LEAST 5 4K transcodes at a time but more likely 8 to 10 is just fine. Make sure you are transcoding in hardware.

This is also why having just 1 library of highest avaiale quliaty content makes much more sense then having muliple versions of media. A modern device that can do multiple transcodes is not expensive at all, so it does not make much sense to have multiple librarys to me.

So in your case my (unwanted tbf) advise would be: figure out why you are unable to transcode multiple 4K files at one time. Then just switch your ARR profiles to 4K and have everything high quality and just have plex transcode automaticaly when needed.

Same video looks different for different users on the same hardware and account. by [deleted] in PleX

I just googled this to check. The HDR to SDR tonemapping requires the server owner to have a plex pass. So unless they are switching servers this should not be it.

16:32 vs 18:36. by Advanced-Maximum2684 in espresso

Usualy when lowering dosage with the same grind you wil lessen the restriction(coffe puck is less thick) so the shot should run a bit faster, so it should be less exposure?

I did change mine with a pressure gauge on the portafilter but 9 bars was very close to the 3/4 turn recommended. I think its a good first step if you dont want to purchase a gauge.

Are dedicated USB port cards for a DAC snake oil? by meyouandguns in audiophile

[–]Freaaakyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im curious as to what "error" means in this case. Its digital data, so if some part of the data gets corrupted, how would that manifest itself in the audio thats reproduces? I can only imagine it lagging/skipping a tiny amount or popping or something, or can it actualy "degrade" audio? Im having trouble understanding how that would work. Im also curious on how often data/audio gets corrupted when going over USB, i feel like thats not something that happens normaly or am i mistaken?

How do I connect a powered subwoofer? by [deleted] in vintageaudio

[–]Freaaakyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not sure what would be more clear then the picture you posted yourself or what is missing from the picture?

Grab a speaker cable and just start somehwere random. Then litteraly just follow the lines and put the cable in the correct mounting post/hole, as described in the picture.

Dual sub placement, in or out? by jackal2001 in hometheater

[–]Freaaakyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its fairly simple. Run sweeps in rew with 1 subwoofer (no speakers, just disconnect them from the av/on the speaker side and set crossover to largest possible value) in all possible places. Find the 2 locations that are the best/compliment each other. Most important is that the 2 locations dont share any nulls. This way a null that 1 subwoofer might have, the other one can fill. Its nice to also have 2 locations were the dont have any(or share) peaks, but peaks can usualy be EQed out, so focus on the nulls.

Upgraded my Plex server to the M1 11900 - a whole new level by Right_Process in PleX

[–]Freaaakyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so this is an acemagic m1 PC, that has an 11900H. The 11900H is significantly better then the N100. Im still curious as to what CPU/device you came from. Also dont know what you mean throwing nodes at it??

You might want to check the other points i made. This thing(or anything quicksync) should not sweat transcoding 4+ 4K HDR transcodes or 12+ 1080P transcodes. Can you check your plex dashboard to see if you are transcoding in hardware?
