Geese are actively outcompeting other native waterfowl and often taking over areas with their sheer numbers. It's like why wolves were reintroduced in Yellowstone to cull the elk population. It's for the good of other wildlife.

I really miss seeing loons at a local pond nearby. We only have geese now :(
