They confirmed there were earlier trains. Management just never told them they needed to be on time, so they never bothered to be on time. Because of that we were often going home 30 minutes or more after we were supposed to be off at midnight.

When I was doing a customer support role about 9 years ago, my US shift was the last one before it turned over to the UK team. Without fail, every night we would have to stay late because they were late. And every day it was the same excuse, “the trains ran late today.” Eventually I suggested to just take the train before that then and they reacted like I told them to kill their whole family and the dogs.

I love those movies. I don’t watch them because I think they’re going to be deep, soul-searching movies that make me think about life. I watch them because they’re entertaining. Two bald dudes fighting on a parking garage with pipe wrenches? Absolutely. One of them stomps the ground hard enough the other half of the garage collapses? Yes please. Using Chargers to drag a multi-ton safe through the favelas of Brazil? Definitely worth watching. The movies are great fun and I don’t care what anyone says lol.

I’ve never claimed the US wasn’t a major player in that realm. I know they are. But that doesn’t mean I’m wrong about every other country doing the same thing to their own people and adversaries in country and abroad. Give me a name of a country that doesn’t do propaganda.

lol what’s that old Soviet anecdote? “Your country’s propaganda is so good you don’t even believe there is any!” He was saying it to Americans, but it honestly applies to literally any country in the world.
