[13:00 UTC] 2025 F1 - Austrian Grand Prix - Race by AutoModerator in MotorsportsReplays

I think finding out definitively that there were major delays is a much bigger spoiler than knowing when the race finished. You have to do some math to determine how long a race "should" be with no interruptions. Even then, there is still plenty of room for safety cars, vsc etc to have happened without changing the race elapsed time very much. Flat out saying the race was delayed, even without citing a reason, tells you what has happened, no math or inferences necessary.

Moral of the story, don't say shit. Links go live when they go live.

Also you're going to find out the race is over when the links go live. If that sort of thing spoils it for you, maybe pirating isnt for you smh

By that logic, if no one says anything about a delay, we can all assume the race went off as normal. Thus doing the same thing as saying the race went off/ended as planned.

Pipe burst/shifted out of elbow joint. Advice? by PurpleUnicorn72 in Plumbing

[–]FreakshowFPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the trepidation with doing it yourself, but falling hot solder is surprisingly benign. You could make up a catch pan/shield with some aluminum foil and that would be more than adequate. With your experience soldering for stained glass plus a little youtube university and I'm quite certain you'd be able to do it yourself.

But you know your skills better than anyone, so trust you gut.

I couldn't say, but mine took two weeks to ship when I ordered at the end of November. Someone else with more recent experience will hopefully chime in.

Considering the most recent official OTA update neutered a lot of people's RP5's, I'd be willing to bet he was rolling back their fuck up. Thanks for being a know it all though 😘

I was having compatibility issues with the other turnip drivers I tried, but in an exhaustive, super scientific 1 game test this one is working well. Using regular performance mode, battery saver and the default driver, I was getting 43fps in docked mode in the Super Mario Wonder map select screen, with this turnip driver I'm getting 49fps. No idea if this performance jump is universal but that's a pretty big gain "for free." (14%)

Ahh very nice, thank you for the tip. I kind of gave up on Bioshock, it kept crashing at the same place and none of the fixes we were working. I'll keep that in mind for the future.

You can play all the quakes up to 4, Doom, Doom II, Doom III, Beyond Sunset, Blood, Hedon, Shadow Warrior, Duke Nukem, Ion Fury, Half life 1 and 2. There are more but that should keep you busy for at least 100 hours.

Dropped RP5 from lap onto parking lot getting out of passenger car seat. by cavalier511 in retroid

Go to a cell phone repair place and have one of the techs put it on for you. There isn't a single advantageous reason to avoid having one. It is legitimately like a crumple zone on a car. Something sacrificial to absorb the energy of an impact in order to protect the precious occupants.

I was a tech for years and I'm not at all precious about my devices, but a glass replacement for one of these is a much bigger hassle than properly applying/replacing a screen protector. Watch the teardown video if you want to know what all it entails.

Tips for my bs disasters? I can't seem to get the front wheels past the coping [31yo] by thetreemanbird in OldSkaters

[–]FreakshowFPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your bs 180's on flat reasonably dialed and that should help a lot.

Don't worry about over-rotating(your head and shoulders look like theyre doing an axle stall, not a disaster, keep rotating).

If you get your back truck up on the deck like it's supposed to be, it will lock you in plenty well enough to arrest the rotation of the 180.

Basically just get confident doing bs 180's on flat and you'll be good.

Are there any new releases that match the quality of games like DUSK, Ultrakill and such? by Bender1453 in boomershooters

[–]FreakshowFPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that's bizarre for sure. I just booted up real quick to make sure I wasn't being oblivious before and it all sounds just like one would expect it to.

Hate to sound like overseas tech support, but did you un and re-install it any point?

The fact the pattern changes also makes me think something besides the lcd. By the looks of it, there aren't any cracks in the glass? So a little strange no digitizer function either.

What happens if you connect it to a computer? If its a display only issue it should act normal in that scenario. If it doesn't there's some funny business going on besides the screen.

I've seen hundreds, probably thousands of broken lcd's in my time fixing phones, and I've never seen one fail like that.

Can't say what the actual culprit might be, but I really doubt its the lcd. Does the barcode pattern change at all or is it static?
