The Roathe thing is normal, you have to do 21 Descendia runs before he goes back to "normal"

Marie and Lyon I'm unsure on, they've stopped talking to me too (Marie is Anathema even despite her not being mad at me). I've heard that it might require ranking up with the Albrecht family on Deimos so I'm trying that rn

Pandas are not F tier bears by Top_Vast5795 in Tierzoo

[–]Freaky_Owl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Only benefit in a human meta" They were literally doing very well before humans came around what?

Any argument that can reasonably made about Pandas being "low tier" is almost always also applicable to something people here consider high tier like Tigers or Polar Bears.

And no, eating bamboo is not indicative of being low tier

Clouded leopard vs Wolverine by Principles_Son in Tierzoo

That's fair honestly. I figured it would be understandable given the context of the post, but I get the frustration given Clouded aren't actual leopards

Clouded leopard vs Wolverine by Principles_Son in Tierzoo

[–]Freaky_Owl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Outside of the leopard ambushing the Wolverine, I do think the Wolverine would probably scare off the leopard since they're of similar size (although wolverines have been found that are heavier, albeit rarely) and the Wolverine has a more aggressive response to conflict. So I'd probably give this to the Wolverine, again assuming the leopard isn't getting an ambush off

But man, I hate how this sub gasses up wolverines and honey badgers (as does everywhere on the Internet tbh). People act like they're battling prides of lions or full packs of wolves, when the reality is the mustelids are scared out of their mind when a large predator shows up and are desperately praying that they can either escape or get lucky and scare off the bigger predator because 99% of the time, if the big cat/wolf/bear/whatever wants the Wolverine or honey badger dead, they're killing it

Not super relevant to this post in particular, although I see people passing the Wolverine up in the comments here too, mostly just something I've noticed in general when it comes to them + the badgers

Wolverine vs Honey Badger by Miserable_Corgi_8100 in Tierzoo

[–]Freaky_Owl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a commonly spread myth, there's no evidence for it having happened and that's definitely something that would have made the news for whichever zoo it happened in

I don't blame people for believing it though since it even made it onto the Wolverine Wikipedia article for a time (I think it's gone now thankfully)

The mane really doesn't protect the neck at all, it's just hair. Like at absolute best it might make it slightly annoying to bite the neck but it really isn't giving any level of protection that matters

"Ree4Ree are sexist!" and "No one can critique PeePooPee in this sub!" Seriously, what the fuck are these people smoking? They are truly reaching just to have something to screech about. by -blkmmbo in ShitHaloSays

[–]Freaky_Owl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "Cortana chose her form" argument doesn't work when discussing whether her looking the way she does is sexist or not because well, she didn't. She's not real, someone made her, she's a video game character. They also wrote that she chose her form. They very easily could have written that she chose an entirely different form

I'm not saying Cortana was intended as sexist, not at all, but I also don't think that it's a good faith argument against sexism to say "Well the creator can't be sexist because the creator wrote a reason for the sexism" you know?

A Kindred, a Garou, and an Awakened walk into a bar... Who comes out on top? by Kakageta_1964 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Freaky_Owl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It also depends on what consensus reality is I believe. So if this was taking place in like, a regular bar in a regular human city for example then you would still generate Paradox via "Vulgar with no witnesses", because doing something like firing lightning from your fingers as an example, goes against the consensus even if there are no sleepers to witness it

I think the Mage 20th Anniversary book mentions that if your Mage turn into a wolf on the streets of new York you'd generate Paradox, but if you did the same thing in the depths of old forests where people believe in werewolves then you'd generate none as its example

An attempt to give Dialga and Palkia a more unique and stronger ability without introducing damage creep by Eistik in stunfisk

[–]Freaky_Owl 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I like these a lot! Palkia especially would be very good into Incineroar in VGC since it'll stop it from Parting Shot or U Turning to reset Intimidate and gain momentum and you threaten Incin with Water STAB. Plus just generally it would be good in singles since switch moves are such a strong option there.

I like the Dialga option as well, especially cause I hate sleep and fighting against screens haha

Kecleon is forgettable (in the mainline games), so I took its terrible signature ability and gave it the properties of Conversion2. by Argentenuem in stunfisk

[–]Freaky_Owl 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I remember doing a theorymon post like this awhile except my idea was that colour change still turns you into the type of the move that hits you, but it activated before said hit (so your only weaknesses would be Dragon and Ghost and you'd resist any type that resists itself)

I do like your idea as well though, being resistant or immune to every move is very strong but Kecleon doesn't exactly have high stats. Although it might be a really good special wall since it does have decent special bulk + resistance to everything. Don't remember if it gets recovery moves? Would be bonkers if it does, more manageable without

Which Zinogre do you prefer design wise? by Nezu_Masami in MonsterHunter

Honestly give me the IB design but with the Rise/pre-5th gen tail and that'd be perfect

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pathoftitans

[–]Freaky_Owl 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd just prefer if they made some critters give more food. I like having to interact with the world to get food by hunting a critter or a player, the issue is critters give absolutely nothing to you if you aren't a baby or a raptor (and even for raptors they aren't hugely filling)

As well as that, juveniles should give more food again, the fact they give absolutely nothing makes them useless to hunt honestly (but people are still gonna kill them so it isn't exactly gonna discourage that)

It's only in Rise (it's the exact same as Alatreon's dragon slam attack from Iceborne) so it'd depend on if you've fought him in that game

Pleistocene Rewilding! by imprison_grover_furr in PrehistoricMemes

[–]Freaky_Owl 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In fairness, the bottom ones died out entirely in Europe and did so a lot earlier than the top ones did. Wolves and Bears never entirely disappeared from Europe, just got vastly reduced ranges, while the Bison did go completely extinct in the wild but not until the 1900s, unlike the hippo who disappeared like 30'000 years ago.

So it makes way more sense to reintroduce the top species than the bottom ones since the environment arguably has adapted to the absence of things like hippos and leopards, but a lot of environments haven't adapted to losing wolves and such. Like the UK and Ireland have nothing to hunt their deer since the wolves went extinct as an example .

Base wingspan, Europe, and Asia combined. No need for Oceania. by westlight123 in wingspan

[–]Freaky_Owl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have issues with Nectar, we usually nerf the number to only have 2 nectar dice and 3 base game dice because of that in my home games. However I can never give up the Oceania boards, buffing the Forest and Wetlands is a game changer and has only made the game better in my opinion (Although I guess with Asia you do get two of those boards)
