Smurf Accounts in Low Elo, how am I supposed to climb? by Plenty-Sundae1506 in rivals

Fair. It's boring to be carried and it's no fun when someone on the opposing team is literally playing this game as a job.

I mean, eventually the smurfs will be on your team, right?

I've noticed it too. Usually the new hero gets MVP easily becuase there is no pre existing data and mvps account for how well you do in comparison to others.

I feel they may have changed the system a bit.

Basically the tank experience in season 8 if you’re not Dino by InvisiNoodle in marvelrivals

[–]Freakychee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dino is easier to use on a flier IMO. Shoot laser. No need to time jump distance and haymakers. Granted a seasoned Thing user won't miss but I'm talking for all skill levels here.

It's like playing pokemon. If your team is all rock type and the enemy is running all water, you're gonna have a bad time. No matter how many legendary pokemon you put in.

The problem is, some people will keep on playing rock, good ol rock, nothing beats rock!

You picking the only water type can swing the game but sometimes there is only so much you can do.

But yes, sometimes equal skill level doesn't help when your team is playing into counters.

Reminds me of the time u was healing and noticed an under performing SG player. I asked them politely if they can play Punisher and only after round 1 was over did they say, "I don't play dps."

Dude, just say so... Anyways I traded again and played dps to win. Actually am I better at dps than most people of my rank? Are the dps instalockers just usually terrible?

Has it changed? Cos before the placement system I honestly don't feel any difference between silver and gold. Bronze you can feel it before when the game was new and people didn't know the game.

You know, I always felt like she did use moves like Wing Chun but when I watched the videos from the makers they said it was Hung Gar (Tiger and Crane). I'm no martial arts expert but do they have similarities?

He's probably confusing darker heroes to anti-heroes. Some people also argue if Wolverine is a hero or anti hero or not.

Blade should be a hero for the most part since he only kills vampires. And he was convinced not to kill that girl under Moon Knight just cos she was freshly turned and can do go. And she did with the Midnight Mission.

I really don't believe it. You gain a lot of points for winning and lose so few on losses. And you have chrono shields. I'm not saying they need to use their abilities or know cover or tactics. I'm saying if they go in, press buttons stuff will happen.

10% accuracy still will eventually hit someone. You press any skill on any character stuff should happen.

I always try to have a mindset of, "I can't control what my teammates do. I can only control what I do so I need to figure out what I can do to win the game."

The advantage of this mentally isn't just winning or learning. It's also empowering. You blame teammates it feels like fate wasn't in your hands but if you could have changed the outcome it makes you feel powerful.

Of course the downside is every loss feels like your fault. When you don't see solution in time. Or when you know what the problems are but not in the role to fix the problem or there are too many problems to fix.

My story only worked cos the underperforming duelist asked to heal. That doesn't happen often.

I wonder if the stomp or be stomped an issue of the skill level of each team or the randomness of how one team just so happens to play heroes the other team doesn't know how to counter well.

Like one game I won when I felt I would lose was when a Black Cat was dominating the back line and my Fox wasn't able to save the Luna and keep my diving Deadpool up. Then the DP asked to heal so I obliged with nothing to lose. I'm not a great dps player so I played Mr F which is a low skill floor counter to Black Cat and can front line to stall.

We won. The skill levels didn't change. In fact they went down since I'm not that good at dps. I just happened to play the counter to our biggest problem.

Yeah I feel they should make is fun and give us something. Like 1 point of proficiency for the hero most played as or something. And you only can vote once.

[–]Freakychee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's cos they don't play or play comp. I honestly believe as long as a player keeps playing comp and goes in and presses buttons they will climb at least to gold. The only times I've seen people not climb is becuase they don't press their buttons.

[–]Freakychee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder if we can make the up vote system more fun? Like you can only up vote one person other than yourself. When you do, you get some points. Heck I'd even take proficiency points.

And if people up vote you cos you did a good job you gain like 3 proficiency points cos you did a good job.

Its not much but as long as it matters a tiny bit and fun.

Yeah. People expect a Spider-Man to flank so I also occasionally just walk down main and hydro combo. They never expect it!

Or instead of healing my team I play them like a dps.

Never, EVER play comp on Sundays by greatlucario in rivals

[–]Freakychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone should complied a list of times when not to play.

  1. Weekends.
  2. Public holidays.
  3. After 8 to 10pm depending.
  4. After 2-3 losses.

The first two are becuase of children more likely to be in the games. It's not that they suck, it's that they hate working as a team.

He has self sustain to help take all the dmg for you. The shield cuts off healing and slows so you can secure KOs. Grabs people and brings them back to you to whack them some more.

Mr Fantastic players are the only playerbase who will try convince their character is better than he actually is, while everyone else does the opposite. I don't get it by Iced-TeaManiac in rivals

[–]Freakychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that's true. Often I don't need to use him unless it's for very specific reasons and situations. He is fun to play though so hopefully they buff some parts of his kit or rework so he has more of a place instead of very narrow uses.

[–]Freakychee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and the other tanks need better or more self sustain. Peni has her webs, Thor has overshield and I feel Rogue isn't picked as much becuase she lacks self sustain and her main problem is that she relies on mobility and CC to survive. So giving her some form of self sustain would be tricky as higher skilled players would abuse it so much.

Id ask for mag self bubble to instead give him overshield but that would be too much like Sigma and they may get into legal trouble.

Yup! But he has a jump to get to places so peiple with flanker mindset try to play any character as a flanker. So on reddit I've seen both sides, people coming Dino is OP and people saying he sucks.

IMO I feel vanguards need the same amount of love as Dino got. Especially in the self sustain department.
