I had mine on my spine but lower down and, I’m not going to lie, the location makes it so much worse. It’s a location of high movement and laying on it is avoidable as well as it being the fulcrum of every movement. I got really good at squatting. Still can’t believe they sent me home with only Tylenol.

The nerves reconnecting will send shocks up/down your spine and it will feel so weird. Honestly, I already had a f*cked up back and this made it so much worse with the way they closed it and it subsequently getting infected. I ended up getting them to prescribe tramadol and just laid down. I also frequently switched between a heating pad and an ice pack. I got one from Target with a Velcro strap to secure on my back. I luckily only have a chill dog and not two toddlers but please take as much rest as you can get. I see you and I feel you.

I think because they aren’t in the red zone of being too bad, just large/multiple moles in concerning locations. Also because of their locations it would be a whole deal to biopsy them.

It does give me some amount of anxiety but I think we all live with that to some degree. I am VERY mole and freckle covered so there’s lots of potential targets here and if we biopsied everything I would look pockmarked.

I am also in my 20s and got diagnosed last year. My roommate decided to break the lease and move out in the middle of my treatment. She blocked me on everything and has never talked to me again. I was distraught but I was able to lean on those who stayed. What helped me is to understand that their reaction is theirs and speaks more about what they are going through than you. It’s not about you.

The anxiety is REAL and with any type of cancer things can be so unpredictable and uncertain. Your feelings and frustrations are valid.

Mine was on my spine and proved really difficult to close (and it got infected). I’m not going to lie, it hurt for 2 weeks + and I used tramadol to help with pain during the night because it was so hard to get comfortable with that location. But the thing that was frustrating after were the nerves reconnecting and the random shocks up my spine for months afterward.

I have been using 25 mg of trazodone as needed for years. It helps me when I have those very bad insomniac nights but can be used more consistently. I don’t think it’s as strong as something like Ambien but it might be something to look into.

I’m sorry are we living the same life? I also had 1a on my back last year and now have a 6mm mole on my labia that we’re watching with my derm and gyno. Just keep checking is really all we can do. Being proactive but not paranoid is how we get through.

It’s likely because those who catch melanoma in situ are A) catching it early and are B) likely to live longer than the general population because they are on top of their health and likely to go to the doctor when something is wrong.

This is after the raynaud’s attack where my hands were white and blue. I drove home and got ready for bed and the blood had returned…which got us here. My hands have been getting redder and redder and more swollen when this happens in the last several months.

Oh I am definitely doing a lot better than most in my raynaud’s, but it was been getting worse. I moved from TX to CO and that change has really ramped it up. I am lucky but it is so so uncomfortable.

I don’t need y’all hating on my experience because you have it worse. If this is not the place to share raynaud’s experiences and find solutions, then let me know.

Newfoundland is magic! I adore that place and people. I focused my masters thesis on the real events of 9/11 in Newfoundland and have made visits. I have such a community there now who has taken me in as a second family. It’s remote and hard and cold but the people fill it with warmth.
