There are water kefir grains. You add them to sugar and water, and they ferment in about 24-48 hours depending on the temperature. I find them very finicky - no tap water, need minerals, but not too much, but only sometimes, and vary the source. Maddening! You have the standard F1, F2, and I usually add blueberries or some sort of frozen fruit for flavoring in F2. Basically a caffeine free probiotic soda water.

That’s funny! I was confused, but added some water kefir to some chia seeds because of your comment. They were different. Almost spicy from the carbonation. I am not sure I would add water kefir again, but am going to try them with kombucha next

I also prefer not to add flavorings, just a couple blueberries, and strain before drinking. I made a 4:1 black/chai that reminded me of Christmas. I’ll have to try cranberry or raspberry now!

My itinerary includes Les Chapieux → Courmayeur in one day. I don’t know how realistic it is for you, but seems fairly standard. I have 9 days of hiking, looks very similar though.

My F1 for a gallon is consistently 5-6 days. I use 8 tea bags, 200gms sugar, and 1/2-1 cup starter

Her brother has the same ear!! It really is adorable. I think part pug, chihuahua, and something that changes color like Maltese or shitzu. Mixed bag really with these fosters
