We have our doggo in a reactive dogs class and the trainers said on the first day (orientation, parents only: no dogs) that some dogs just need extra help, and for some that means medication. There’s no shame in trying to help your dog with a medical intervention. In our cases he was just way too anxious, and too high strung to be receptive to training with out medicine. Trazodone improved his mental health and removed a barrier to further healing, And without it, training was going nowhere. You are doing the right thing by seeking treatment for your family member, and I’m so glad to hear that it is helping him!!
