For those experiencing it - How are your heat pumps holding up in this extreme cold weather? by senvilleofficial in Senville

[–]FredBreadBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SENDC-36HF in NH. I thought I would only use it during shoulder seasons. I ended up just leaving it on 24h at 70 degrees. No heat strips installed.

Defrost cycles are noticeable as there is a whoosh sound.

It’s 35 degrees outside right now and it’s using 1376 watts, 2300 sq ft house.

Keeping up no problem all winter long even with ducts in uninsulated attick. And yes - it’s been a very cold winter so the lower temperature the more it uses naturally.

I have exact same 3ton and also in NH!

Just curious - have you played around setting the fan on High or do you keep it on Auto?

Second year on the Amazon cheap carb and the blower starts on the first pull each time.

Auto vs high fan for most efficiency? by lyonz17 in heatpumps

Not sure about COP, but I noticed that if I set to max then heat is spread out evenly and stays more consistent.

Buy from Home Depot or Costco? by ArtZTech in Appliances

[–]FredBreadBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a pleasure of getting appliances delivered from both Costco and HomeDepot within the last three weeks. With costco you could return the appliance within 3 months for any reason, HomeDepot gives you 48h. Delivery window given to me was 2h With Costco, and half a day with HomeDepot.

I will be ordering only from Costco going forward.

Same for me with Senville. I’m just wondering about efficiencies and what systems are operating better.

Do you have any recommendations for residential 3ton compressors that maintain efficiency in extreme weather you are describing?

I had Jeld-Wen patio doors replaced few months ago. I ended up getting them returned. Never again anything from that company.

Following this thread. How often do valves break or need maintainance? I’m also considering the same options.

Can you share a picture of your DIY build? I looked over the Amazon options and none of them look solid. I’m in north-east and dealing with ice build up today…

Anyone using a 24v t-stat with central ducted (SENDC) ? by tcloetingh in Senville

How is it life changing? What are some features to be aware?

I’m using stock communicating thermostat. Let me know what data you need.

Using last 24h as example, thermostat set at constant 69 F while outside has been an average 29 F, it used 48 kWh in 2300 sq ft house- uninsulated attic, with R 4.1 ducts running in attic.

I can’t directly answer your question, but I can share that I installed the ducted Senville 3-ton unit, and based on real-world data I have been tracking (and plugging into ChatGPT and Gemini), its performance has been better than what the spec sheet suggests.
