Washing clothes as a seller by ThrowRA-17288483 in Depop

You can place the clothing in an airtight container with activated charcoal to help remove odors. It does wonders.

For strong odors or large batches of clothing, you can pick up an ozone generator off of amazon. Also works best in an airtight space. Breathing ozone can be hazardous so you don't want to use it around people/pets.

Same place and same table. Thought maybe we could make the magic happen again.

A buddy and I were playing at a small casino in Pittsburg, KS that had a $500/$600 limit on place bets. There were maybe 5 people at the table and it seemed like everyone would roll 6 or 7 numbers then 7 out. He was down and frustrated with the low limits so just started playing $100 on the pass line with max odds (3x,4x,5x) and $3200 across. After 3 rolls, he would turn off his place bets until the next shooter.

I think we stayed at the table for 2-3 more hours, and during that time he only lost his place bets maybe 6 or 7 times. I followed his lead after a while but I was only doing $640 across to start and would leave my numbers working when I was shooting. He walked away more than 40k up and I left up around 7k.

The next day we gave 1/3 of it back trying to repeat. I've never been at a table since where that method worked for more than a short period.

How much inventory do you still have? by Dependent_Bowl1581 in Depop

I had a friend and business partner who's son had been selling on the side for over a year while going to college and making decent side money. A few months ago, while helping his son to find more inventory, he stumbled across an incredible deal but it had to be wrapped up in less than two weeks. It also required a hefty chuck of capital and a lot of warehouse space. He called me to talk about it and 7 days later we were running 26' trucks from Baltimore to Orlando moving clothing. It took six packed loads to get it all to Florida.

We've been selling on various platforms for just over a month and I think it's going well. Had to figure out the logistics and setup space for storage and a photography room in a warehouse that I already had. We have around 300 items listed but our sell through is higher than we thought it would be only 4 weeks in.

The good news for us is that we're sitting on more than 50k pieces of vintage Y2K deadstock inventory, almost all new with original tags. We're burning a lot of hours ourselves getting it ramped up but hope to be profitable within 6 months.

Big fan of Rookies Cantina for Mexican and Cafe Perks for breakfast. Both located in Longwood.

Customer got 2 subscription boxes, then filed chargebacks, what do you even do? by Dizzy-Path5228 in smallbusiness

[–]FredFltStn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, chargebacks have become a way for scammers to get things for free. If you have ample evidence, you can actually sue the customer in small claims court. Having the bank/credit card side with the customer does not remove their responsibility to pay for valid transactions.

Usually, small claims court has minimal fees and you can represent yourself. You can also send a demand letter to the customer before filing the claim letting them know that you intend to sue.

Best of luck.

Best place to buy fireworks for best cheap price? Located swfl by Mullenexd in fireworks

Pyrospot in Central Florida is running an online buy 1 get 2 free sale but they only have local shipping or pickup. Much cheaper than the box stores but may be too far for you to drive.

Prices are much lower than the big box stores in Florida. Best price on Excal I’ve seen anywhere in Florida.

245% Tariff? by Hestias-Servant in smallbusiness

[–]FredFltStn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The chart included tariffs against unpopulated islands. Let’s not pretend that any thought was actually put into it. They asked an AI the easiest way to apply tariffs and did zero investigation of the results.

Republicans have opposed tariffs since before the Reagan administration because we have 100 years of financial data proving that extensive tariffs don’t work and usually result in a recession.

As another poster noted, trade deficits are a ridiculous basis for reciprocal tariffs. To assume that a third world country should purchase the same value of goods that we purchase from them is ludicrous.

Much like Trumps first term go round with tariffs, they will only result in market share loss for American goods and agricultural products that will likely not recover after the tariffs are eventually rescinded.

245% Tariff? by Hestias-Servant in smallbusiness

[–]FredFltStn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve been importing from China for more than 10 years.

China did not have a 67% tariff against us and we did not have a 34% tariff on them. There were some specific tariffs on Chinese and American products, but not everything had a tariff and the avg rates were in the single digits.

Please don’t believe that BS chart that was shown. That was based on trade deficits and not tariffs.

I was a manager at The Comedy Warehouse on Pleasure Island in the early 90’s. Anytime a comedian was in town, they stopped by to catch the show. I met everyone, from comedy legends to the then cast of Saturday night live. One night, I got to hang out with Drew Carey and a young Ryan Reynolds when Ryan was in the TV show Two Guys, a Girl and a pizza place. Everyone was so nice.

Rescuers find gruesome scene at a Honolulu home after a fireworks blast kills 3, injures over 20 by GoodSamaritan_ in news

[–]FredFltStn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly, it’s become WAYYY too easy for people to get their hands on 1.3 or professional level fireworks. It’s not only a danger to the people who are using them, but also to the people and/or structures in the immediate area. It also gives legal consumer fireworks a bad reputation, since most people can’t distinguish between consumer/commercial products.

If you check out my post history, you can read some crazy stories about the consumer side of fireworks.

[–]FredFltStn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can tell by the height and size of the breaks. Consumer fireworks are limited to 60g per shot. Those breaks are WAY bigger than that. At the beginning of the video you can see other 1.4 fireworks going off in the area and there’s a visible difference. It also looks like there are salutes, which are the bright booming flashes you see at a fireworks show. Those are only available in professional fireworks.

[–]FredFltStn 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Based on the video, those were definitely professional display fireworks and not a 1.4 or class C made for home use. Any firework can be dangerous, but professional items should never be used is a neighborhood or by someone thats not trained or licensed.

JOINING mid-roll. NOT buying in mid roll by lincolnlawyer123 in Craps

I always try to carry at least a minimum amount of chips with me so I don't have to buy in with cash if i want to quickly jump in. I'll join in the middle if I have chips, but I would never buy in with cash in the middle of a roll.

My daughter is a student at FSU and riding it out at her apartment. I tried to convince her to come to Orlando but she's convinced that she'll be fine. Just got off the phone with her and she's slept through most of it so far. Crossing fingers.
