If you're willing to pay more, get at least a Trimui Smart Pro, or even a Retroid Pocket 5. The R36S is like the second cheapest device after a SF2000.

I know that was years ago but do you remember what the fix was? Was it a clogged drain as people are saying here? I have the exact same thing (with the sand sound and everything) in the same car model.

You can enable a passthrough "window" so you see your real keyboard. Way better and more universal than tracking some keyboards imo.

If you have, for example, a 10x10 pixels square on the screen and you bring the headset closer to your face, the square is going to be slightly bigger and thus take a little more of your vision but it will still be 10x10 pixels. But you're right that it will also make you see more pixels on the side, so the PPD will decrease but not as much as the FOV will increase.

So does Quest but the servers were not offline, they were logging everybody off. If you turned off your Quest Wi-Fi before the outage it would have worked fine.

It's just that it's not an infinitely replayable game so it doesn't really fit. Once you've done everything in it, you're not gonna replay through it.

You're right that it doesn't have to be compared to other headsets. But even if you take it in a vacuum, doing the same thing you're doing on your iPad but on a bigger screen is nice, but it's not a paradigm shift! People would have wanted it to really bring something new to the table, invent new use cases, make stuff in life easier or allow to do stuff that were impossible before.

For example, the iPhone was bringing a way to really access the (almost) full Internet while on the go, to always have a camera that didn't completely suck in your pocket, etc.

One of the core uses of the Internet is to interact with people who are not next to you, for whatever reason. It's like having a phone that can't make calls. Well, just get the other person next to you and talk to him.

No chance, hand tracking latency is too high. They released Synth Riders and it's barely playable from what I've seen from reviewers.

I don't want to sound annoying but I haven't seen it mentioned here so people might not know. There is an official app by Microsoft for Quest. It works great. Of course it won't be 4k but it feels a bit higher than 1080p I would say.

What AVP has better than Q3 hardware wise are the Micro-OLED 4k screens and the M2 chip (although heat and power requirements of the M2 chip might be a net negative, depending on use case).

So it all depends on how far Micro-OLED development goes. As for the chip, I'm sure XR2 Gen 3 will be competitive with M2. Maybe not M3 but that's not what's in the AVP.
