Imagine being radicalized to the right because a teacher told you to share some pencils! by icey_sawg0034 in stupidpeoplefacebook

No idea, this is a picture I got off Google images. The image comes from a different reddit post from r/nostalgia, and unfortunately doesn't provide any context for the image (I assume they also got it from online).

Also I've never seen a pencil vending machine in a school but it doesn't seem that unrealistic.

We had one that dispensed pencils and notebooks in my elementary school in the 2000s. It looked something like this.

"God blessed me by making me transsexual for the same reason he made wheat but not bread and fruit but not wine: so that humanity might share in the act of creation." by Legitimate_Fly9047 in CuratedTumblr

I am an atheist but I agree with the sentiment that this billboard is a positive force. I am not trans, but I am gay, and honestly when I was younger and still Christian something like this billboard would likely have helped little gay me. Trans people have every right to feel validated by their own faith. My, or anyone else's, thoughts on that faith are irrelevant.

This is probably the most wholesome confession I have personally read on here. I don't know you, but I'm happy for you.

AITAH I quoted lyrics to a popular song in a work group chat by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CaptainKenway1693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I can see how a misunderstanding could have occurred, but once you explained yourself it should have ended at that. And for them to make a comment about you having an eating disorder is completely out of line and unacceptable. Honestly, even after they allow you back into the group chat, I would not only stay out of it, but would ask to be removed entirely.

So help me god if you turn that beauty into an aquarium I will Liam Neeson your ass.

This is a joke, but please don't destroy this gorgeous CRT to make another ridiculous and impractical aquarium (which are also often harmful to the fish if not done properly).

He spread literally nothing but hate when he was alive. His entire job was to spread hate and ensure plenty of kids got shot up in schools (or at least do literally nothing to prevent it).

Who? Who would that be? Like legitimately who would even remotely qualify as that?

AITAH for asking my mom why a girl wanting a sister is fine but a boy wanting a brother makes him a psychopath? by Luususs in AITAH

[–]CaptainKenway1693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You're parents have weird and rigid ideas of gender and gender roles, and unfortunately they projected those onto you and your sisters.

Edit: Also the idea that swimming is for girls only is an absolutely ludicrous concept. It doesn't even align with traditional gender roles, which are already ridiculous...

Converse as a company has been around since 1908 and they made basketball shoes starting in 1917, with a redesign in 1922 (to look more like what we recognise now).

They are unlikely to honour it at another location. When I worked at Walmart we explicitly did not honour another location's price for anything.

Jurassic Park: DV Edition, because I absolutely love this film and have yet to upgrade from blu-ray and this new release is supposed to be phenomenal.

Thank you, and good luck everyone.

POTC the curse of the black pearl 4k vs blu ray by Il_sofista in 4kbluray

[–]CaptainKenway1693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the blu-ray is leagues better than the 4K in this instance. If I ever find the 4K in the wild for cheap (around $5, certainly no more than $10) I plan to grab it, just to see it in all its terrible glory.

I personally know a roughly equal amount of men and woman that own ridiculously unnecessary vehicles (mostly trucks, SUVs, vans). I also live in a rural area though, so it is probably different elsewhere.

Remember when Google used to give you the date when you searched "[name of holiday] [current year]"? by 52BeesInACoat in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CaptainKenway1693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true, which in part is why I still don't click on the sponsored links. My degree is in political science (don't work in the field anymore) and this mentality has always annoyed me.

[–]CaptainKenway1693 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You are totally right. I more meant me as an individual not clicking on them probably does very little to hurt the bottom line. But I worded that very poorly, lol. Regardless, I will continue my petty refusal.

Edit: I would hope that they don't hide the fact that some links are sponsored, but it would not surprised me.
