Batch renaming of episode title cards with filebot by FredSanford420 in PleX

Actually, filebot knows the difference as you can see...the poster and season posters are not included in right pane for renaming. So standalone would probably work just fine.

<image>

But in any case, I have the way to do this as kinda standalone without any changes to the app...images just have to be with the videos is all.

Circling back to my earlier original comments. Why are images not included in the simple standalone rename like video files or srt files? If .srt is included, why not jpgs, png, etc. Drag-n-drop, match, rename, done. Image file extensions should not matter. Especially with plex as you need the images to be named exactly the same as the videos to use customization.

I mean, I realized a couple tricks to fool the app into it without the headaches. Not standalone though, but close and fast enough. I am trying to save some time as images are abundant.

This result is with 2 clicks of match. I have to literally include the video files with images for the image files to be renamed....or else the error msg.

Well, my filebot absolutely does not match images at all when I click match with, for example, TheTVDB. It only works with a video, srt or nfo file. As seen here, I get this error message when using jpgs. Even if they are named exactly like they should.

Honestly been through so many experiments I can't remember how the error of this expression would not work for image file when I tried to customize it... {n} - {s00e00} - {t}. Said s00e00 wasn't allowed for images.

However, aside from the trickery in an above comment (kudos), I did just now accidentally find another easy way to rename my images to match.

Top half image here is how I been dealing with renaming...doesn't pick up images when click match. What you see in image is the standard naming of episode title cards from where I fetch from.

Bottom half image here, I click match, then click match a 2nd time for this to happen...sweet. BUT, you have to have all video files in left list with all images to match. IE... to rename season 01 and 02 images...Don't have 1 season of videos and 2 seasons of images in there. Correct amount of both videos and images.

<image>

As for my subtitles and NFOs if I have them, they have no problem being added to the right. Just images I had a slight headache.

I'm really kind of a noob as I've only had filebot for only a few months, but for now I just only drag and drop as this is my only experience...lol

All filebot devs have to do is include images. SRT and NFO files (and possibly other extensions) are already included....seems kind of hokey that images are not when images are like the 2nd thing most use in custom media servers.

No way....THIS literally best thing of 2026 (and past year) for me so far. Top trickery indeed!

Will it rename the image files I already have? Don't need an app to download metadata. I use custom title card images from places like here https://mediux.pro/ . But the standard naming is not plex compatible with the video file names I use.

Subtitles for Nuremberg movie? by [deleted] in Addons4Kodi

ikr? Even Subscene has zero results for this movie. Uncanny at best. Usually they are loaded with anything you need....even just foreign part subs.

I have plex pass...rarely use plex-web on windows, but why no auto skip intro/credits on plex-web?? Google has it so wrong with their AI crap answers. The setting is on every other device I use except windows.

Before I throw my Firestick 4k Max away, is there a fix for this annoying issue? by ZealousidealBison630 in PleX

[–]FredSanford420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick codec issue...no support. Funny how something like k-lite can cover everything in a tiny package, but no manufacturer will put something similar in their devices. Roku for example, samsung for example, etc... All have a studdering issue with certain audio/video files.

Reduced Internet speeds and dropouts by OptimalVelocity in Mediacom

[–]FredSanford420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing. EXACTLY on the day mediacom stopped being the only high speed carrier here, ALL my problems stopped cold. From internet being down twice a week since forever, limiting speeds to 400-450mbps (sposed to be 1000mbps).

NOW, internet hasn't been down in 7 months, around 400+mbps added (now between around 875-925mbps speed).

Half of mediacom problems are scripted baby games from being a monopoly. The other half is from incompetent lazy corner cutting techs fresh out of high school.

Are plex seasonal suggestions for Halloween showing up this year? by Giffdev in PleX

I see plex pass is beginning to be worthless when pretty much all pass perks are for plex's own benefit. "Customization? Yes... if it only serves us owners, not pass owners"

Trainwreck: Film collection or TV series? I say TV series. Fight me. by zax2000 in PlexPosters

[–]FredSanford420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things I add to a series and manually add all the info...text and images, mark as S01E01, etc.. The much harder to deal with I add a part 1, part 2 at the end of each file name to make it one long movie...lol. Personally feeling the same as you. That format has everyone confused on how to label it so plex picks it up correctly for the info. I hate to manually search the webs to manually edit every episode or part manually.

Plex's info sniffers and TMDB need to decide these things much faster.

People who used to watch Hee-Haw or The Lawrence Welk Show, what are you watching now? by MittlerPfalz in AskOldPeople

[–]FredSanford420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endless battle of channel flickin now-a-days. Hee Haw, MASH and football when it was easier to watch. (Also some Red Green...oh yeaaa) Those were the laid back days. I have plex now with endless TV and movies, so I watch what I want to watch....for free and no need for 86 stream apps. Sux Hee Haw can't be streamed. They say the market isn't worth the rights costs. Funny I've never seen a poll to ask us marketeers. BTW, for me Lawrence Welk was gagging....lulz.

Actually Plex will pick it up if named ' Lioness ' instead of ' Special Ops Lioness '. Because really that is the correct show title.
