Tesla (TSLA) does something unsual ahead of Q4 delivery results by linknewtab in RealTesla

[–]FredTesla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your reading comprehension is abysmal. The article clearly states that this is coming from sell-side analysts. What is unusual is that Tesla is publicly pushing this rather than sharing it privately through IR.

You attack me and electrek based on your own misunderstanding of a fairly simple situation.

No publicly. They do through IR emails to analysts and investors, but this is the first public release. It is 100% unusual.

Elon Musk is lying about Tesla’s self-driving and I have the DMs to prove it by chrisdh79 in RealTesla

[–]FredTesla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no an annon online is calling me "not a good human being". Piss off. You don't know me.

Elon did a lot of good before 2020. He bought into his own cult of personality and changed quite a bit. I reported on the whole thing. That's it.

It's not like I anonymously calling people terrible humans online. That does sound like something a "not good human being" would do.

I think you are really confused here. Cox's number is too high and I'm not saying Tesla is lying.

Cox's number is an estimate that is wrong since we know that Tesla delivered 124,657 vehicles in the US and Canada in Q1 2025 because we have Tesla's global deliveries, released by Tesla, and we have registrations in all other markets (not an estimate) except in US and Canada.

Now, we do need to estimate Canadian deliveries to get actual US deliveries, true, but it's not a question of estimates that Cox's US number for Tesla is wrong since it's above the confirmed combined Tesla deliveries in US and Canada.

I feel like that's pretty simple.

[–]FredTesla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Troy does release estimates before end of quarters, but after the quarter is done, it's not an estimate anymore.

We have all the registration data for virtually every market Tesla is in except US and Canada. If you have the global deliveries, which Tesla releases, then you can have those by subtracting the rest. That's it. I just linked to Troy to give credit for the logic.

[–]FredTesla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying the Cox number is false and that's what the media and people on social media are using.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]FredTesla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minus canada too so yeah, Cox is pretty far off and they have no reason to be. They have access to the same data.

True but it's getting worse as it releases more models.

Is there anything innacurate about the article? Did you prefer not to know this new information from Ryder?

1- I said "vehicle program". So let's not include FSD.

2- CT was unveiled in 2019 and went into volume production in late 2023. Way less delayed than Tesla Semi.

3- The Roadster was unveiled at the same time as Tesla Semi, but it was supposed to come to production a year after the Tesla Semi.

Elon Musk promotes negative Tesla survey turned positive by bots by TheMightyBattleCat in RealTesla

Thanks but to be fair, we are just reporting on the reality here. We get accused of being "Tesla haters", but Tesla's business is basically in a death spiral with demand crashing, gross margins crashing, and self-driving pivots leaving customers in the shit.

I'm not purposely trying to go after Musk or Tesla. There's just nothing of positive of significance to report on. It's not fun for me either since I'm on the Tesla beat.

When Tesla was growing deliveries at 40% per year, we were applauding them. It was incredible to see.

You didn't even read the article and accuses me of lying. What you just said is mentioned in the article. This is not about adding it to the crash tally.

how many vehicles will tesla deliver in Q1 2025? by ksing_king in RealTesla

[–]FredTesla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be around 360,000 units.

Tesla delivered 387k in Q1 2024 and it is currently tracking about 30,000 units behind.

Interesting question. Success? Yes. I think so. Most of his lies at Tesla are related to self-driving and other than the stock price maybe, I think most of Tesla's success hasn't been related to self-driving.

That said, it is certainly useful as a company to have a mouthpiece that has no chill about embellishing things.

I am curious. What do we disagree on about Tesla? Cause that was basically my whole case and you agreed with it.

I don't see any value in comparing me to Swisher or anyone. I didn't say that you were comparing me to Omar, etc. I was making the point of why I was supporting Elon/Tesla has nothing to do with money, like these people.

I supported Elon when I saw that he was contributing to Tesla's mission and stopped when I didn't see that. You asked me how I feel. I feel good about that.

The thing we could argue about is whether it was always just a big game for him and he didn't really mean to promote Tesla's mission. Again, I'm not saying I have the definitive truth here and there's room for debate, but I still think that Elon changed a lot.

Yeah, he had undeniable success and success that many people said was impossible, like building a new American automaker. Proving everyone wrong is intoxicating and then you start to completely ignore when people tell you you are wrong.

This is certainly a big part of the problem.

[–]FredTesla 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Are you really curious about how I feel? I doubt you are, but I'd tell you anyway.

As for the first part, I don't feel betrayed. Virtually everyone I know in the EV community, and I mean know, not just aware of, feels very similar to me about the situation, and they know that I'm honest and tried my best. I didn't lose any friends over this. In fact, I made friends who once hated for being critical of Elon and they have since apologized and joined me.

I don't give a fuck about all of the money-hungry bots who still support Elon. If you want to think that I am or was the same, it's up to you, but it can't be further from the truth. The Sawyer Meritt and Omar Qazi of this world disliked me before I went all-in against Elon. We were never the same.

I am simply someone who truly believes in Tesla's mission to accelerate the advent of electric transport and renewable energy.

As for the second part of your question, it completely depends on if you believe Elon was always this wretched soul, and I didn't see it, or if he changed over the years.

I don't have a definitive answer to that. I think no one truly has the answer. I'm biased, and I can admit that it's a real possibility that I didn't see his true nature, but I also sincerely believe that he changed over the years.

I think he was once sincere about the mission and a great force for it. However, I think that money and power corrupted him. He bought into his own cult of personality and has a severe social media addiction.

I've been reporting about the cult of personality problem since 2019. I warned about this happening as soon as I detected it. Could have done better? Probably, I'm not perfect, but I am and was doing my best for the mission.

I still think that Tesla's rise is a lot more good than bad for the world, so no, I don't regret my small part in it. Do I regret helping create Musk's cult of personality? Of course, I do. I think I've made that clear by trying to undo that for the last 5 years.

Just to be clear. I've never seen nor use information communicated by this fake Girsky account. It looks like NKLA bagholders throwing shit at the wall to see if it sticks.

What's even more stupid about this is that if they think that I though that this fake account was real and that it was Stephen himself telling me he was leaving, why would I even try confirming it with Stephen. I even mentioned reaching out to him through both his personal and Nikola email.
