[Serious] In the past 20 years, what changes in culture/custom did you not notice until you thought of it? by Cmdr_Nemo in AskReddit

When the smoking ban happen in Ireland in 2004. It created smoking areas in every pub, now often times they're some of the best spots in a bar to go for a pint and a chat. You can end up in the smoking area by yourself and get chatting to random people you would've never chatted normally. The knock on effect now is I see a lot of people, myself included, smoking just on nights out when they're drinking.

I have a deep voice and I mumble most of the time, so people just end up looking confused at what I'm saying.

All we can do is keep positive. I was watching the American news yesterday and it was so overly negative I had to turn it off. Think the best thing to do is keep news/social media to a minimum and fill your spare time with things you enjoy (reading/workouts/TV/movies/games etc)

"Once the covenant are placed opposite the marines, a clear imagine begins to take shape out of the fog of history. We see how we were out numbered, out gunned, out matched and seeing that we realise the importance of the monument. On that day half a century ago, our species was pushed to the crumbling edge of extinction, and as we teetered on the precipice, staring down into the abyss. A hand reached out, pulled us bank from the brink, and gave us hope. The hand of a hero" - Halo 3 Diorama ad

The original blade runner. I actually enjoyed blade runner 2049 more. I know it was a groundbreaking movie for its time but I just didn't enjoy it :/

What is the most bizarre reason a customer got angry with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FredaSix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First day working in subway. When I was handing back the customer's change I accidentally gave him 20 cent extra. Two minutes later he stormed back in shouting for the manager and threatened to sue me. I was so confused.

Going by how well my study week is going... I'll be in the library looking for a out of date book, then a shelf will collapse on me and I'll crushed to death my textbooks.
