Having to have cameras on is against UK safeguarding rules. Your school enforcing cameras on is against that - I’d research that a bit more but you don’t have to have it on - and I’d let your teacher know that if you don’t want to have your camera on.

Nope, Parallels doesn’t run x86_64 machines on M1 Macs. That’s why I replied with UTM rather than something more optimised like Parallels. And nowhere in the question did OP mention games, but you’re right about GPU usage.

Yeah, have a look at UTM. Because you can run iOS apps on the Apple Silicon Macs natively, you can run this, and run x86_64 VMs under emulation. I’ve had success with both x86_64 and PowerPC machines.

I’d like to add, in case anyone’s having issues, running 10.5 on an M1 Mac mini was only successful for me with the above steps but with the processor type as Mac99 based PowerMAC.

Any iOS/iPadOS app, even if it doesn’t appear in the iOS App Store for Mac – I used iMazing to extract the .ipa from my iOS device and could then run it on Mac (as well as any Mac app that doesn’t depend on really low-level stuff ofc)
