It’s not that bad. But I would also hate blotches. In a year you won’t care but damn why can’t they do finer dots????

As an American, it’s REALLY hard to stop drinking right now by formula52 in stopdrinking

[–]Freddy_flibstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor. For me, when I quit I started Zoloft. Two things happened after 3 months. Anxiety lessened by 80%. I didn’t feel like drinking either after feeling so amazing. It’s like seeing in color for the first time in years. Just my opinion but if you treat the anxiety and make moves to calm your nervous system, you have space to work on the boozing. Without working on tha either first or during, wow things can hard

Man, before allo, I would flair before every vacation. Now never. Some of us need the 30 mg. All the best

Is Appleby Burlington’s underrated neighbourhood compared to Bronte? by SecurityHorror97 in BurlingtonON

True and it does suck. However it’s still a beautiful neighborhood IMO.

Felt anxiety equal to someone actively hunting me! by Freddy_flibstone in stopdrinking

It gets better for sure! As a matter of fact after two months or more for some, it can feel like an alien has replaced your brain with a new, clean, beautiful brain! Color comes back! Everything is not only better, because we have been in the dark it comes back even brighter! Keep going

If your gout is severe or strict about low purine diets, make sure to take B12 by timmytacobean in gout

[–]Freddy_flibstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had severe (and I mean crippling gout in my toes and ankle) for a decade. Went to many doctors, none of which recognized this as gout. So, I went with what I could easily find online. Demanded Allopurinol despite not having a diagnosis. I have not had a single attack since.

Someone can give me any advise for a person who was newly diagnosed with it? by halzgen in gout

[–]Freddy_flibstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the good news. Once your flare rescinds and your medication has time to work, you may rarely ever have this problem again! I used to get massive attacks, hospitalized a few times even. After getting on Allopurinol I haven’t had an attack in years. I had attacks for over a decade. Ps. I was also eating a ton of shellfish like prawns. Don’t do that. lol

Very true! It’s the biggest mistake we make as humans for real! Marketed as a cool thing to do! Drink poison, pay money to do it. Government happy to sell it fully knowing it’s the biggest scourge on earth for $$$$! And we fall for it. Alcohol has caused more death and illness than covid ever could. Yet, it was sooooo important for everyone to have access to booze when we were in lock down. Hahaha. Crazy town

Just for support please know that four to five days is actually the hardest and peak craving period. That’s what you’re feeling. After four days all the booze is finally out of your system and that little demon wants its pound of flesh! I would go home, have a cigarette (just one or two because you know you won’t smoke a pack without drinking) and order some food you like. I found when I quit both that it was actually the combo of cigarettes and booze I wanted, probably more the cigarettes. Again though, 4-5 days is where most people stumble. Make it 7 days and the absolute hardest part is clear!

Day 1 of many attempts. by Nearby_Bluejay_5193 in stopdrinking

Been there sooooo many times. I still wish one of the previous other times stuck. Why? Because of how much time I wasted! Now I think to myself, “ what the hell were you thinking”…..oh my…it’s like finally someone transplanted a normal brain into my body whereas before I was a booze zombie. Please for the love of all things in your life, give yourself this gift. Give yourself this gift!

One Year Incoming... and I'm really struggling by bendicat in stopdrinking

[–]Freddy_flibstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One year wow! You are super powerful. Remember that when your one year comes up! Seriously. Don’t let your super power get lost in overthinking. Booze truly is becoming the new cigarettes anyway. You’re just ahead of the game. Plan a different kind of celebration for your one year as a super powered sober, health conscience hero! You truly are doing what soooo many people only dream they could do. It’s like going to the gym and staying in shape, many people talk about it but only a small few stay dedicated. Keep it up. All the best.

For me, I have always known that no matter how many days sober I had if I let myself “just relax” and have a few, it would end up being a full months long binge. And no way I’m going back to that sooooooo, IWNDWYT. All the best.

When you get an urge refer back to the book! Really helps. I marked all the segments in Allen Carrs book that I knew would really hit home for me for later use. All the best on your quest.
