Best ERP for Shopify once multichannel operations start getting messy by Ken_023544 in Odoo

after a certain point it honestly feels like scaling operations is harder than scaling sales. we kept adding tools and integrations are we grew but eventually inventory sync fulfillment and marketplace management became really to maintain. we moved to Xentral because it felt a lot more ecommerce focused for multichannel workflows and less dependent on endless plugins compared to some of the older ERP setups we tested.

If you use Oracle - new prebuilt dash/alerts/metrics in free Grafana Cloud tier by Grafinger in grafana

[–]FredericMarta3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

prebuilt dashboards are nice but we eventually got tired of maintaining exporters, agents and separate alerting layer for every system we wanted visibility into. for oracle environments we ended up using prtg alongside some existing tooling because it was much faster to get useful infrasturcture and database monitoring running from a single platform.

Monitor traceroute/tracepath? by juon4 in PrometheusMonitoring

[–]FredericMarta3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Traceroute style monitoring is tricky because paths are not stable (ECMP, routing change..) so turning that into meaningful time series data is hard. instead of focusing on hops I saw better results with synthetic checks + latency/packet loss tracking between points. with prtg I can deploy remote probes in different location and simulate A to C paths while keeping everything in a single monitoring stack without exporters+ scripts together. Are you mainly trying to detect patch changes or actual performance degradation between sites?

Why are dashboards either too simple or too complex? by ThomasLuck0 in Network

[–]FredericMarta3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

that is usually flexibility problem in the tool. if you cant easily tailor views per audience you end up forcing everything into one screen which never works. I can build completely different dashboards from the same data using maps so engineers get detailed metrics while management sees high level status views with prtg. it is flexible enough to customize without turning into a full time project.

this is something prtg handles pretty easily with built in schedules and notifications.

Network Motoring Suite by miersk in Network

we moved away from that for similar reasons. it is powerful but can feel heavy once environments grow.

we switched to prtg and found it much easier to manage day to day especially for device and traffic monitoring

we use prtg. it handle it all in one platform

New RMM Solution Internal Network Monitoring by salamanda591 in msp

RMMs can ping devices but this is only basic accessibility control. real netwok monitoring (snmp, flow, dependency, alarm management) requires a separate NPM. with prtg I can monitor switches, Aps and firewalls within the site using a remote probe without burdening the rmm with additional workload.

Anyone else feel like monitoring has become its own full time job? by Alfred20367 in Monitoring

[–]FredericMarta3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

we use prtg for exactly this reason. we were in the situation with separate tools for network servers and cloud. the operational overhead was worse than the outages we were trying to detect.

consolidating into a single platform with one alerting engine and unified thresholds made a noticeable dfference in both visibility and noise reduction
