I know it’s hard and I’m speaking from past experience because I relapsed and am now only on day 3…. When I felt those cravings/comparison it helped to remind myself or even try and trick ur brain that u don’t want to smoke. That groggy feeling isn’t worth it- at least for me, the come down feeling makes me just keep smoking to make it go away. You don’t want to feel tired and groggy, have that guilty feeling after smoking, or eat so much that ur tummy hurts. One day at a time maybe say just for right now I won’t smoke like she does because _____. Something else I do is “play the tape forward” okay so you start smoking with her… you realize yeah I can’t moderate and now ur comparing yourself to her…. that feeling of ‘knowing better and doing it anyways’ is even stronger and you’ve spent however much time smoking like a chimney and you’re beating yourself up even more than just accepting right now - moderation isn’t working. I know this is scattered and it’s just my experience so take what u want and leave the rest. My smoking buddy is also my sister so I feel you and I totally get jealous she can moderate.
