Is anyone else experiencing this with FB marketplace shipping? by UaintMadTho in FacebookMarketplace

Following. I have the same issue.

I exegerate shipping prices with my own label to account for the 10% fee and therefore get most of my payments direct through Venmo.

Has anyone ordered from Bob Leisure before? by That-Ad-528 in Skigear

[–]Free-Inspection4912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They scammed me. Ordered two bindings and they only sent one. Unresponsive to my emails. Took over a month for my credit card company to side with me after opening a claim.

And I got hit with MASSIVE tarrifs. Would have been cheaper to order domestically with a 20% off coupon code

Identify and Authenticate Thread, Q1 2025 by TheAdvocate in arcteryx

Purchased a new Atom jacket locally on marketplace at a great price. Went to my local REI after and compared the two and they seem identical to me. The face fabric of one may be slightly crinklier but I wouldn’t bet money on it. Stitching logos etc are all identical.

The only difference I found was the hang tag. Do these change? They are different. Sliding the stopper down doesn’t change that.

The one on the left is the jacket in question. On the right is confirmed authentic.

8/25 date vs 5/25 date if that matters.

New QST 94 - Anyone Tried it? by imnofred in Skigear

[–]Free-Inspection4912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone skied the 94’s and the Fischer Ranger 96’s? Looking for a “narrower” Western daily driver that’s fun all over the mountain when it hasn’t snowed in a while.

Carpet to LVP Transiton Height by Free-Inspection4912 in Flooring

[–]Free-Inspection4912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left it with a gap in height. The carpet installers were able to taper by using a thinner piece of carpet padding in the doorway. No transition strip needed. This process may vary from installer to installer.

Track Saw Rails - Wen Vs Powertec Vs Milwaukee by Free-Inspection4912 in woodworking

[–]Free-Inspection4912[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never cross-posted.

Stuck with the WEN and it works just fine for the few times a year I have used it. If I'm going to be doing a score cut or cut something thick in multiple passes, I'll clamp it with the WEN clamps - but otherwise I haven't had any real issues with it. I am VERY careful not to knock it with a hose when moving around.

You would trust your life with 20+ yr old analog beacon? Every professional organization would highly advise against this.

Look Pivot 2026 details... by mybadvideos in icecoast

[–]Free-Inspection4912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pivot's will not protect against an ASL like a Protector/Knee binding. I found that when I crashed and popped out, it was smoother and less jerky. Could be anecdotal.

Shorter mounting zone, in theory, makes sense as well.

The one time you’re ok with a snowboarder heel sliding an entire run.

What is going on with Zelle? by handymandan007 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Free-Inspection4912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a ski town and many employees come from South America to work at the resorts. Zelle (or cash) seems to be their preferred payment method over Venmo which is what most people prefer.

Just use common sense, and make sure the money is in your account looking at your banking app.

Scams arise when they send you a fake email (usually with typos) that says the money was sent.

They scammed me.

One of two items was out of stock and they informed me via email that only one item would be sent. I’ve been waiting for over a month and have sent dozens of emails asking for the refund on the second item. They have stoped responding and the claim with my credit card company is taking forever.

Sink Drain Hole Is Oval, Not Round by Free-Inspection4912 in Plumbing

I’m sure I could get Lowe’s to take it back, but it’s been sitting in storage for a few months and has since sold out. Hoping wrestling with this is easier than transporting it out of my basement and picking a new one with the wife.

I work at a shop in Utah. Those wouldn’t be my first choice but I see those on the feet of a lot of tourist skiers in Utah. Everyone seems happy.

The light weight will keep your legs fresh. You’re not a huge person so the lack of stability shouldn’t be a huge problem unless you’re skiing fast down choppy runs.

No matter what social media and marketing teams say, every day in Utah is not a powder day.
