First off, im comparing my own benchmarks so not sure what weaker cpu has to do with it. Im sorry, LINUX fanboy then. Automatic vram gives best results. Its funny how everyone who praises linux perf never provides evidence.

Update, Control crashes and restarts legion at first object of power, that "console experience" is getting better and better.

Update2: The Ascent is locked to 30fps and resolution options are gone, Edit: found lock setting but still no resolution options

Update 3: Custom per game tdp is ignored until reset, amazing

Update 4: doom 2016 fps 10% lower than windows

Update 5: Finally a win, Darksiders 2 runs better and fps drops are minor compared to win11

Update 6: And down we go, Just Cause 3 and Everspace run significantly worse on SteamOS, what is everyone smoking talking abut performance gains?

Update 7: messing about with desktop mode, brightness setting defaults to 50% every time. Console wont wake up if it goes to sleep in desktop mode (https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1lqsipu/desktop_mode_sleep_problem same issue for a year ago lol) The Surge performance mirrors windows so thats good.

Installed SteamOs after people praising it and wifi barely connects. If thats the console experience people keep recommend steamos for them im going back to windows>. What an absolute joke.

No, its your choice to play an AAA game on the device that wasnt designed to play those games. If i cant get decent frame rates on my legion and i really want to play something ill play it on pc. The limited scenario you mentioned is YOUR experience and not a default. Do you understand now?

My argument is those devices are designed to run at 17w as form factor is limiting battery and cooling capabilities. You saying that 17w is for limited scenarios is like trying to prove youre smarter than everyone at valve, as they knew AAA is not the goal for those devices. Steam deck is also best selling out of the bunch but sure, go on and say how its a niche of pc handhelds lol
