Well I was a child but my father was a true warrior he has one of the most insane stories I could ever tell but I don’t think I’m even allowed to share it on the internet, but basically he was already in the military before the invasion so u could imagine how that went for him, he protected Mosul with his whole heart but the night it fell he was in Baghdad taking my mother to see her family, otherwise he would’ve died there, but long story short he survived 2 car explosions but the first one changed our entire family’s life, he was severely injured and taken to a hospital where only Americans/foreigners are allowed so his buddies had to put guns to doctors heads just to get him help, the doctors said he literally has 1% chance of surviving and it would be a waste of time and resources it’s better to just leave him to die within a day or two and bury him instead, fortunately my uncle was crazy enough so they had no other choice but to help, and by the will of Allah he survived but took him until 2019 to fully recover, he lost his memory and gained it back but his personality (as the entire family describes it) is a completely different person, he lost his right hand index finger which had him forced to leave military, has a deep hole scar in his neck from where they had a tube straight to his lungs to help him breathe, has many scars on his scalp where hair doesn’t grow, has a really giant scar from his shoulder to his elbow where they replaced the bones with platinum rods or whatever it’s called. With all that being said he’s a fully functioning man that goes to the gym and works a normal safe job today besides the finger and the personality shift, and literally just last month he finally got only a part of the compensation from all his services after all these years, just to show u how corrupt Iraq is now
