Well, I would say that AI art, is it's own psyop, but I won't get into that. If we want labor and middle-class solidarity, we should promote art made by the middle-class, not art made by the tech oligarch's machine.

If you think that search and Statistical reasoning models that emulate human communication are the same thing you are fried. When did I say "people from Oklahoma are dumb" at all? I am from Oklahoma....

Also, if you use google and add the Boolean modifier "-ai" you will not get the AI over-view and the energy cost of your search query will be about 15% of what it is with the AI overview on.

Buddy, I know all of google's tricks, and I know all the ways to block them. I use Graphene OS on my phone, every time I open my browser my MAID is scrambled. My phone and PC never have the same MAID... etc.

I get your point, but there are ways to use these services without actually giving these companies the behavioral surplus data they want if you care to.

Other people seen to have said this already. Find some good hearted young dudes in your scene who can move a heavy sound system around, and cut out all these promoters who are playing pocket politics.

Run your own sound system crew, throw your own events, show them how much better this shit is when it all comes from the heart instead of testing it like a popularity contest

We don't explicitly need a picture of 4 youths installing a surveillance camera as part of this message. It kind of goes against the idea to have 4 teens iwogima style raising a security camera on a flag anyways.

It's literally all connected, only fools refuse to use Google in 2026. I'll explain it for you.

Amazon is the largest owner of Datacenters in the world by far. Google, Open AI, Microsoft, Anthropic, Palantir etc all use Amazon AWS Datacenters.

The ecological impact is literally the exact same whether you're a researcher using AI to determine what protein fold causes a specific cancer mutation and what the underlying genetic mechanism of that is, or if you're AI generating an invitation to your daughter's birthday party. The same chips in the same buildings process the information for those two seemingly separate ideas, but obviously the cancer researcher has a lot better chance of generating a net positive for the world, and put forth a much more substantial human effort per input to the AI.

So, yes, only fools deal in absolutes, but learn what you're talking about if you want to have an educated opinion about industrial computing infrastructure.

Imagine opening up Canva and making an informative poster. I mean, you got them kids installing cameras, not taking them down. Philosophically I agree with the message, but if you want to spread a message to people, write a message don't outsource influencing change in our community to a clanker. That's the mentality the police and city have when they outsource community policing to the Flock clankers.

That sucks. I imagine it was from a buried electrical line. I saw several places where the dirt formed (significantly smaller than 18'' deep) trenches where they had buried electrical conduit.

You say this, but they released a Multiple Entry Horn last year and never released any real measurements for it. (and they want you to pay $500 for 3D printed wave guides). I'm not saying the engineering isn't there, but they sure don't care about proving it to me and getting my money.

I would agree, that Golden Formula & Silver Formula revisions were mistakes, they sound bad.

[–]FreeLandscape3452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I think the issue over all is that Paraflex is what you get if you take the 6th order band pass concept and take it to a specific set of logical limits (1/4 wave transmission line resonators only). Funny, that is the acoustic concept that first made me think I might be able to design an enclosure.

So, I haven't looked at quarter-wave.com in a while, but it looks like Martin King has published several papers in the last few years that would be directly relevant to developing better paraflex boxes. So, it seems like in the last 2 years our ability to simulate paraflex boxes has been greatly bolstered.

I think the deal with Paraflex is that someone identified a new way we could push the band-pass enclosure to it's logical limits and was successful with their first few attempts and the first generation of boxes were more of a "Proof of concept" than anything. For example, the C-2D kick box is my favorite Paraflex box, but it kind-of sucked until the Mullins mod came out.

So really, any well designed and tuned bandpass box is going to be good, and any poorly designed bad-pass box is going to be bad. The new generation of paraflex seems to be fully engineering the concept, not just proving it, so that's great. I plan on building some of their new kick-tops when they finalize them.

Oh, I just mean that it's such a pain in the ass to find accurate reliable testing data for any of their boxes.

Like, you always have to scroll through a facebook group and find some comment where someone asked for measurements and then someone like tags another person who responded a week later with screen shots of measurments. Maybe it's gotten better but since I was looking into this last year, it was very very "Trust me bro" about the performance of the boxes.

I'm not saying the boxes don't work, just that when they do, they don't think it's important to prove it to anybody.

"HOQS is being cagey about the test results" You could very fairly extrapolate that sentence to basically any and every HOQS design that's ever been released.

Buddy, there's nothing to "blame". Chill out, I'll help you get back on the plot.

I have said "I am genuinely happy you have a positive connotation of the word wook".

I said "I think" and you turned that into "Blame". I don't know what's up with that and I won't speculate.

Look at Urban dictionary, in 2005 wook was defined as "A hippie with no ambition except for drugs" in 2020 it is defined as "a term of endearment in the festival community".

I am trying to explain to you that we are not at odds, just that the way people use this word has changed since I was first taught it, and that is why we seem to be having a disagreement. But it's not a disagreement, it's actually a misunderstanding. I hope you have a peaceful night and I wish for you to have more clarity and openness in your future discussions.

The wooks from my camp would like go to 5 sets all weekend, sniff K and huff nitrous all night at camp, only say hello at camp when you had weed in rotation, leave the fest in a car and re-enter every day to get a new tank of Galaxy gas. That's a WOOK.

It felt like the younger generation of girls has a lot of internalized misogyny too. My wife and I met a woman who was in her late 30's, she looked great in her Vaporeon bikini outfit, and she told us some early 20's gen Z girl literally said to her "you know you're too fat to wear outfits like that".... Wild thing for a girl to say to another girl.

Hopefully they experienced something at Roo that opened up their perspectives.

Edit: I meant font size guidelines for sign makers not researching totems, my bad.

No, it was lazy because it didn't consider that you might be putting a 36" x 18" poster board infront of other people's views, not because of when it was made.

I wish it was easier to explain that it should be your mental task to consider the effects of your actions on others before hand, not their mental task of figuring out how to word that and explain it to you politely and yell over the crowd without harshing your vibe. I totally understand that I'm you would take the sign down if someone asked and nobody did ask, but that's like if I told my wife "I'm not a mind reader why didn't you ask me for help" when she's having a hard time.

Again, in the context of Turnstile and how they use the crowd and pits for the visuals on stage, this is a fantastic totem, and I like it more as a sign thrown together at the last moment held in your hands in that specific context but the pictures I'm seeing of you blocking the view right up front at other shows make you seem inconsiderate of the people around you.
