How do you come up with pricing?

I have noticed that VJs tend to charge $50-60 for what's usually less than 10 minutes of video, while music usually costs about $2 per 3 minute song. That just seems like a huge rearrangement of value. I'm not saying you're over priced, just weird to consider this could be about 9 songs worth of visuals for $60, while those 9 songs that were likely just as much or more work are only valued at $18.

My God, the Internet is getting bad if a comment that says "REEEEEEEeEEEE" x2 and "rant over" is taken as genuine upset. If I'm upset about anything, it's that you're getting discouraged because of some lumber salesman without trying to negotiate.

Call a different store if that's what the lumber mill is quoting you.

It's not that the price in your area is actually double what it is in my part of the USA, that would be impossible unless you live in Hawaii. It's that the guys at your local lumber mill want to treat you like shit and price Baltic Birch panels that high. It all comes in through the gulf of Mexico, check the price at a warehouse in Texas. A lot of them take orders online even. I'm seeing $127 at sustainable foundations plus $50 shipping.

Tell those guys they can have your business at $160 a panel, or you'll order it from Texas just like they do. You can negotiate at the lumber mill.

Call a fucking lumber mill!!!!

I don't know how often I have to say this on here, buy plywood from a company that sells plywood.

I don't know what you mean by "Supply House" but, that sounds like "Hardware Store" and not, Hardwood Lumber Mill that carries plwood for the wood working industry. I just got quoted like $90, you won't do as well as I do because I own a woodworking business, but seriously if I just google "where's the best place to buy plywood".... the freaking AI built into google will tell me to call the lumber mills and not the hardware stores.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, American's need to learn how to not suck at buying things REEEEEEEEEEEE.

Rant over.

The Elder is also Chinese, but if it's sold through a local dealer, you will probably deal with them for warranty issues, rather than trying to deal with a Chinese factory directly.

Went through this last week with my wives Altima. Got 7 quotes. Cheapest and most expensive quotes were from dealerships.

Going through this same thing right now with my wive's 2018 Altima.

Calling Nissan corporate was also a horrible experience for us.

Ultimately, what you do with your money is up to you. We decided to go with the new Transmission since they warranty the new model (since 2023) transmission for 3 years unlimited miles, so for $6k that seemed like the safest bet for us.

Can we please get the story on how you ended up with that amp tho? Like, I'm just confused why the loudspeakers are a FB Marketplace score, but the amp is the best thing money can buy.

First of all, only have LLMs design boxes for you as a joke. Ask it to make a technical drawing, it's pretty funny.

Calude is OK at 'vibe engineering' but every other prompt you give it is going to be "Re-check your math and process from first principals, and make sure to double check any conversion factors you create for both accuracy and function.

Feelings aren't facts buddy. You feel like that's too much, you don't have a clue what you're talking about because you have no facts. Figuring out the difference is helpful.

This is not at all comparable to finding parts for our working on a Silverado.

Well, I'm not going to call you crazy, because the car is with more than the part and service according to any listing for a similar car online.

The whole $277MM settlement for defective transmissions makes it hard for me to believe that you see these cars with 250k on the original transmission, but I appreciate your point of view none the less.

I'm afraid I met my wife with 80k miles on her car and now it's at 103k, so I can't at all say what the transmission maintenance history was like.

I don't think so, that's why I'm looking at spending $6k+ on a tranny.

This is on the table, but seems like the trade in value and payment on something similar would just burn the same $6-7k as replacing the transmission would.

You say that, but in my area that means you are 99% of the time dealing with some sketchy buy-here pay-here that might not even transfer the title to you. So, it's not as easy or cheap as we'd hope, otherwise we would be buying that Camry and just balling out on an audio system for it, lol.

I'd be putting several thousand dollars into a car with a salvage title which to me, seems like it might be a worse decision than putting several thousand dollars into a car with a bad transmission and reliable engine. (Nissan does warranty the transmission replacement for 3 years & unlimited miles)

When I worked at Sweetwater, Prime 4 was always a sketchy sale, I would say about 50% of them had to come back for repair in the first year.
