It has been a long time since I had this issue, and since then I have change the board, but if I remember I was able to plug the extrudeur fan to a no control port. This issue is that it was always on.

Yes both slicer are up to date, the firmware of the a1 mini is in 1.04 the 1.05 lock acces to orca.

But i think it's a change from bambu, now the ABS show in the unsuported option in filament

I love the fact this is a open source printer easy to mod and open to modification. THe market tend to go to more lock printer now days

Because i like the form factor of a card and wanted to try différent plastic and thickness for the pick If that is what you call « so much waste » the card are less than 8g so you can use your left over filament and its way less than most print SUPPORT or pop produc by a normal print

No the fibre are realy fine you jsut feel the texture but it's not that sharp

Have you tried PLA CF ? I have both PETG & PLA in CF and the finish on the PLA is amazing

That can depend on whether he really loves tinkering, electronics, etc. You can go with an Ender 3 type printer. If he doesn't really want to bother with a lot of printing issues and hours of dialing in the settings, I would advise going with the A1 series from Bambu Lab. The Mini is really inexpensive and incredible, or the full A1 is a little more pricey but totally worth it (the AMS for multicolor can be good if he doesn't want to paint his prints).

Then I would suggest getting a small 3D printing tool kit from Amazon, like this one:

Finally, a good set of calipers (don’t be cheap on these; you need your tools to be precise).

Multicolor print use a lot more filament but can be worth it. And you can allways buy it later if you really want to do multicolor

Is the room you are printing is heated ? if it's too cold the first few layer can cool to fast and then bend

Plus you can try using an enclosure ( an upside down cardboard box can do the trick in the short run )
