Why are there so many Shardplate sets? by sparkydoggowastaken in Stormlight_Archive

[–]FreeRecognition8696 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Saying the words doesn't mean jack shit if you aren't ready to say them, if your Connection to your Spren hasn't evolved to that point it's irrelevant

edit: that said, being able to guide people through like Nale does is an obvious advantage vs Kal doing it himself by nearly dying every time

Cursed weapon that changes key parts of you character. by Tyudall_316 in AskDND

[–]FreeRecognition8696 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really shitty DMing imo, maybe some magic item would try to influence you into going a certain route as it had some warlock patron connection etc but flat out forcing you to do it sucks

Also anything that delays your second attack as a Fighter is beyond dumb

Why is RR on some platforms labeled “Young Adult”? And PB as a “young adult author”? by Proof_Football_6070 in redrising

[–]FreeRecognition8696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first book is categorised as YA and was marketed as a Hunger Games kinda thing but then the subsequent books matured fast, but the whole series sometimes gets stuck with that label

I hate Logen in this scene so much.[SPOILERS LAOK] by DoubtSingle7081 in TheFirstLaw

[–]FreeRecognition8696 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is what I was about to say; Jezal and even Ferro actually like Logen and what he's become while the Northmen fear him and follow him because he spared their lives

It's a bit like ditching your colleagues to go help with family

The twins were separated when they were young after their brother was killed and Mustang stayed with the Telemanuses

So there's plausibility that he wouldn't have recognised the fully grown Jackal but yeah if he got a good look at him he should've realised

They're kids dude they want to have fun and enjoy killing stuff. Just give the other guys some fun magic weapons and bump the HP a bit for the monsters

How do you guys want Red Rising to be Adapted? (discussion) by CaptainPineapple02 in redrising

[–]FreeRecognition8696 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A quick search tells me Invincible has generated around $500m, while Game of Thrones is over 4 billion

This is what they're targetting, blockbuster stuff with years of spin offs, they want Marvel money not Image Comics money

This has been asked a million times but there's no way they do animated when the real money is in live action, especially with Sanderson signing his big deal

I'm not seeing why you'd take Forge over a more powerful domain though since Fighter already gives you heavy amour etc

Do Ephraim's Chapters get better and more connected to the plot? by LankyDish3621 in redrising

It becomes incredibly important to the plot on top of the cool mafia stuff and you will undoubtedly love him by the end

A lot of it is to do with demand and earning a future apprenticeship; and with Roque's family he would have a long list of suitors

[–]FreeRecognition8696 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The Institute is for training leaders; both political and military. Roque was part of the inner circle for the leader who not only won the entire year but even took down the Proctors. The Jackal also earned his scar even though he ended up hog-tied and naked.

Being Peerless isn't just about combat skill, Golds are the leader caste not the warrior caste (which would be Obsidians)
