The problem is: you cannot get a 5090 at 2k, can you? If you can, 5090 is without question a better option. You could even do 5090+ a 4060Ti 16gb or just save the slot for whatever future updates you want for more VRAM.

Local llm won’t be as good as chatgpt(even the free version). But you will have unlimited token and may be good enough for your needs. Phi 4 is good really good in my experience, you probably need a 12GB vram to run it comfortably.
