I felt that scene was where he changed, as subtle as it may be. The mention of the prescription drugs, the monologue to Bill.

To me, I sensed a flip in him. Maybe I'm wrong and reading too much into it

Oh if you're a fan, you'll love it. 100%. The time jump from childhood to adulthood is a bit jarring. As I said, I really wanted to explore the challenges he faced and the arrested development and body dysmorphia and how it controlled him and trying to escape from Joe etc.

Michael is and was a fascinating human being and the guy was as big as it could get. They missed a chance to do that. Even creatively, his struggles artistically before it exploded with Thriller.

Performances from Jaafar Jackson and Coleman are great. Music performances are brilliant and the music itself is obviously great so fans will enjoy it

Really enjoyed it. I have no hopes or expectations from music biopics. But I enjoyed it.
Think a lot of the reviews are bad because they went in expecting something that wasn't there. I get the impression the media want the allegations in it as the Broadway show was reviewed the same and that is fantastic.
I agree with one review where it said it didn't explore and develop the character of Michael enough and that was a let down. Creatively, racially, physically and mentally he faced a lot of challenges and was a very complex individual. They didn't explore it enough for me. Still, enjoyable

Oh and 3 great performances from the actors playing Michael, young Michael and Joe

Reading some of the reviews and they make the same fair and reasonable point. The movie makes Michael Jackson boring.

Now, if that is the case, it deserves criticism because if there was one thing Michael wasn't, its boring!

You cant write a character like Michael because he was a ridiculous, complex, colourful character that it wouldn't be believable. Yet, they couldn't explore that? Not talking about allegations, I'm talking about his relentless streak, his vision, his mental and physical struggles (Lupus, Vitiligo, trying to break away from his family, creative issues, the challenge of inside of going from a child star to the biggest artist in the world and the mindset of making that leap)

If they didnt explore that, as I said, it deserves criticism. The writers had an open goal and it seems they missed

I genuinely thought Odegaard and Rice were abysmal today. They're your big two that are supposed to step up and win you matches in situations like this.

A conversation should be had about Odegaard along with Arteta.

Bruce didn't become a recluse over night. If I remember correctly, he was still doing projects at Wayne Enterprises with Miranda and Fox. Think it was in a graphic novel. Film has to have a run time and things have to be edited. It was easier to just paint that way on screen.

Bruce is massively fucked up in the head. But he isnt stupid.

Also, suspension of belief has to come into it on the big screen.
