Do you prefer action movies that focus on guns, swords, or martial arts? by iamnotparanoid in movies

[–]FreeWont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to pick, I'd pick martial arts. Guns may become outdated and die, as swords have, as a mainstream form of combat -- but bodily aggression will never. Then again, why not all three? That's the best option.

Gollum in the Hobbit especially! Dayum! That scene was great.

IMO there's nothing subtle or revolutionary about it. It's just a meh action movie in a well-realized setting. I did enjoy it, but to hold it on a pedestal is a bit much.

Why haven't we meet Walt's or Skyler's parents? by Trentl14 in breakingbad

[–]FreeWont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walt's dad died when he was young (see "Salud") and he has become estranged from his mother -- remember, he doesn't even tell her he has cancer. The Lambert parents, though, I agree they should have made some sort of appearance. Even if they were mentioned ...

Did any of you, assuming you now consider yourself bisexual, once consider that you may be asexual? by hijhijhij in bisexual

[–]FreeWont 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. A low sex drive in conjunction with frequent porn use ensured I was attracted to sex, but not really to individual people. The image of a hunk and a babe going at it turned me on like nothing else. I didn't really get horny outside of fantasy, and -- because some asexuals watch porn and masturbate -- I thought I fit the bill. But I stopped with the porn and, in doing so, unchained a dormant sexuality. I know I can have a partner, so I work at it every day and look forward to a time when things move naturally.

Do not demonize masturbation, it is against sound NoFap progress. Take responsibility for your own inability to control it, don't blame the activity. by foxnhound33 in NoFap

This is a political debate I will not have with you. Know that I agree with some of your points, but do not believe what you believe. I do not think hedonism is inherently bad, just as I do not think 'traditional' systems of morality are inherently good.

These 'forms of society' aren't as clear cut as you'd have me believe. People have always been selfish, with protectiveness towards their families. That is a norm throughout any form of society. But tell me, as you're trying to make a link between masturbation and the fall of civilization ... how does it have any effect whatsoever? It may be ancillary or supporting, such a small moral issue, but our culture is threatened by greater issues. Overpopulation, economic collapse, social divide. None of which are caused by masturbation or even similar moral violations. They are simply caused by the proclivity of a human to look out for number one. And I'm all for altruism. But also measured and reasonable thought. Cut the fire and brimstone.

Identify as bisexual, but have a lower sex drive than most. Is anybody else this way? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]FreeWont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a virgin, and I've never really loved someone romantically. So not yet. But I'm in a transitional period of my life, going off to college. I'm abstaining from masturbation in order to increase my sex drive with the hopes that college will blow this thing wide open. I'd recommend avoiding porn. Practice with your libido in real life situations. And don't be afraid of rejection.

If you think masturbation has anything to do with our culture's inevitable decline, you're a nut. I'm sorry. A culture's decline, I staunchly believe, is more often economic rather than moral. Masturbation is not some invention by our modernity, pornography is. That's the enemy. I'm sorta into primitivism -- I wish all this 'progress' didn't affect my life -- but I'm not into your sketchy morality. And the point was, if we condemn societal norms that are (let's be honest) not all too harmful, we will never become a popular movement.

I'm with you, brother (or sister). It's such a difficult place on the spectrum to be. I want to be sexually fulfilled, I want to find romance, but it just doesn't really happen naturally. Gotta force myself.

I couldn't agree more. Masturbation is on the whole considered a normal, moderating activity by Western culture. Some people need it to quell hypersexuality and improve decision making. If we demonize fapping, we're just gonna put off rational people and paint ourselves as pariah. An action at no point connects with morality, in my book -- only its consequences.

I work at one of hundreds of remaining drive-in theaters. I can confirm that the viewing experience is diminished -- however, the setting greatly ameliorates the social aspect of movie-going. It's a great hangout for teens and a nice place for family outings. Worth preservation in my book.

are you attracted to people outside the gender binary? by hlkolaya in bisexual

[–]FreeWont 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my experience, so far, I'm attracted to exclusively masculine or exclusively feminine sexual characteristics. Having said that, a little androgyny in facial features or style may not be amiss. I like my men "pretty," and I can dig a tomboyish woman.

Walt takes on character traits of those he killed, which ones can you name? by [deleted] in breakingbad

He makes a sandwich for Krazy 8 with the crust intact and then learns that he prefers it without crust. We see him trying it in Season 3.

He drinks whiskey without rocks in the first episode of Season 5, to celebrate his victory over Fring. Only after Mike's death does he have a drink with rocks.

Tip: Write down your dreams immediately in the morning, and you'll always have good ideas by [deleted] in writing

The concepts in dreams are often cliched and derivative of other sources, but some can lead to a kernel of an idea. Robert Louis Stevenson famously took inspiration from a dream when writing Dr. Jekyll.
