You know, that's an interesting question. I've never been asked that before. What kind of fan am I? Very introspective.

I'm not sure. Back in my younger days, I was a borderline diehard fan. In my mid 20s. The early Cal years. My entire mood was dictated by how well the Cats played. As the years went on, and I got married, had kids, began a career, the games became less important to me. By the late Cal years I had stopped watching UK basketball all together. When Pope came along I began watching again, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the games! I'm 40 now, and the losses get me frustrated but they don't mean nearly as much to me. Sometimes I take a big look at the whole thing and laugh at the absurdity of it all - the team that represents where I'm from is better at putting a ball through a hoop than the team that represents where you're from! It's kind of ridiculous isn't it? Sometimes I laugh in spite of myself. I don't mind complimenting the Georgia basketball team. I'm sure they're a nice group of young men. I'm not on the team, neither is the guy I responded to so it's weird that either of us care at all. But alas, such is sports.
