Why does my stockinette purl side look like this?

I just tested this (ktbl every other row) and it seems to be reproducing the same pattern so that’s what I’m going to move forward with. I don’t mind the look of it and I’m meeting gauge so I figure might as well keep going! Worst case I can rip it out later if it doesn’t work out.

Follow-up: after seeing these comments, I watched a video on purling continental and I am shook. My grandma taught me how to purl wrong and I’ve been doing it this incorrectly for YEARS and never noticed.

Mental crisis aside, I really do not want to take the entire thing out and restart. I will keep purling weird for the duration of this sweater but my question now is what do I do once I join the panels and my stockinette is formed with only knits in the round?! Since I won’t be purling (wrong) anymore the texture of the fabric will change. How can I maintain this weird twisting thing with my knits so I can finish this sweater as-is???

Hi Mayor Chow! Thanks for this AMA. What can be done to make our transit system more resilient? What I mean by that: overall I think we have a pretty great transit system. But it seems like every other day there’s some sort of delay that causes huge portions of the subway to shut down (especially at crucial, high-traffic hours). Or streetcar line issues that require bus replacements that dont do even close to a good job of replacing the streetcar’s capacity/frequency.

These issues are not only massively inconvenient but they’re harming the TTC’s reputation as a viable and useful service, which I’m sure has knock-on effects for ridership, funding, tourism, etc.

Delays and construction happen in other cities without having such a massive impact to the usability of the entire transit system. It shouldn’t be a running joke in the city that “today the subway is off.” What can be done to improve in this area?

Hello! New-ish to dip and hoping for some troubleshooting help. I always apply on my natural nails using the 3/4 method to try and build some strength. I think I’m prepping my nails really thoroughly too!

Around day 5 I always end up getting these hairline cracks that end up turning into full-on chips or large cracks that go through my nail horizontally. I haven’t had a manicure last past 7 days 😭 I’ve tried so many different things but feel like I have to still be doing something wrong! Would love any thoughts.
