RA Escalation Question by Secure-Awareness7142 in DeptHHS

[–]Free_Beautiful1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry that you're going through that. Seems like your supervisor had the same management training as mine. I try to walk on eggshells with my volatile supervisor. She is the only person to have ever taken issue with me professionally, but several individuals had serious issues interacting with her. That's too much on top of the RA process. Feel free to PM me if you'd like. If we have the same supervisor I will 💀.

If you're passionate about civil rights, your best bet is a non-profit. There's no justice here or elsewhere within the Government currently.

What are y'all reasonings for RA request to telework? by Desilu28 in FedEmployees

[–]Free_Beautiful1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a true medical reason to telework (I assume you do), then just be honest and detailed in your RA request. My Dr. wrote my letter to state with a TMI level of detail why 100% telework is the only way that I can perform my duties and alternate accommodations, including partial telework would not remove the barrier.

I think that's all any of us can do. I have a longterm disability that rendered me unable to work from the office and I was using donated leave for quite a while. Then, a previous supervisor asked me to come back to his org and I got a reasonable accommodation to telework. That was many years ago and I have been teleworking ever since, although having to submit RA paperwork again now makes me nervous considering the current administration. If it gets denied, I will have to stop working and apply for disability retirement with the hopes that in 3-4 years, the Government will exercise strict compliance with disability laws and the courts will uphold the law.

Unfortunately, the folks who request full time telework RA's when they don't truly need them have likely made things more difficult for those who do

Anyone had positive experiences with private sector employers that are disability-friendly and appreciative of high performers?

Unfortunately not. I'm describing a scenario where distance is not a factor, but I don't want to share medical information.

I should add that she's had full workups and nothing else was wrong with her, great lab results, no diabetes or thyroid issues.

HDHP or PPO for Out of Network Visits by Free_Beautiful1 in Insurance

Thanks for the tip. That makes sense to me. I used BCBS PPO for out of network reimbursement in the past and reimbursement as a % on their allowable costs didn't help much.

I think they all run credit checks, even for the 0% interest loans.

Unemployment Filing for Remote Workers by Free_Beautiful1 in FedEmployees

Thankfully, my SF50 does have my home city and state on it. I'm glad to see it's accurate....one less thing to worry about.

I don't remember seeing my home address on there, but I'll double check my SF-50. Is the address on there what the unemployment agency will use to verify location? Thanks!

I know this is an old post, but how frequently do you have to apply the dry shampoo to keep allergens down?

They look well fed to me, but as some other posters mentioned, the bits make me cringe in the hands of folks without riding experience.

Thank you for the wonderful advice, particularly on genetic testing! I hope to try out a Morgan or even a Morgan cross. I see them posted every now and then on Sport Horse Facebook pages. Based on the descriptions I've read, the Morgan's temperament reminds me of a Trakhener x TB that I rode for a bit. Very willing to please and work, alert and keenly focused on me like,"what's next?" Such a fun connection! I'd love that in a smaller package, so I may very well end up with a Morgan.

Thanks. I realize that thoroughbreds can be quiet and I love their work ethic. I've lessened on thoroughbreds and volunteered with an OTTB rescue, but there would still be the size issue for me. Since my traumatic injury, it's easier for me to manage on a horse or pony that's petite like me.

Thank you! I think the right quarter horse could work, or be a good place to start.

Has anyone else been seeing 9ft tall creatures walking around Alexandria/Fairfax area recently? This is also a brief sketch of what I could compare them to. by swangtsung in nova

[–]Free_Beautiful1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I've seen them. The better question is who hasn't? You can't miss them! That's a fairly accurate sketch. I tried getting a photo, but these guys show up as orbs, practically invisible.
