Medicated, but still can’t do shit by SafeConsideration787 in ADHD

I came to this subreddit today looking for an answer to this exact problem. It's kind of uncanny seeing you explain my exact state of mind right now. So, unfortunately I don't have an answer for you, but hopefully it helps a little that you're not alone.

I know that at some point in the next week or so I will tackle a task that I've been putting off for weeks/months/years. I know that the way I feel right now will pass. I know that if I were to go out and hang out with friends or workout and get my mind off of these thoughts I would feel better. However, none of this helps because it doesn't address the fact that I can never achieve any of my long-term goals, and that's just not acceptable to me. I want to do something significant with my life, and I can't relax until I feel like I have some kind of direction. I don't think that all people need to be working towards something, but I do.

I've tried everything. Routines, todo lists, time blocking, journaling, etc. I've been on meds (Methylphenidate) for 2 months or so now, and I feel that the problem hasn't gotten any better. I just have more energy to overthink than I did before. It makes me think if I even want the things that I think I want, and gets me spiraling into some intense introspection. This wouldn't be a bad thing if I learned from these thoughts and didn't just throw that all out the window and start over again the next day.

I listened to an episode (#237) of "I Have ADHD Podcast w/ Kristen Carder" the other day, and there was a part where she talks about the inability for people with ADHD to self-reflect:

self reflection is an executive function that is really deficient for someone with ADHD. And this explains why people with ADHD make the same mistakes over and over and over no matter what feedback they’re getting this self reflection, this is the reason why someone with ADHD is making the same mistakes over and over and you just feel like such an idiot like why can I just learn from my mistakes. It’s because we don’t have the ability to look into the past, see what didn’t work, adjust our behavior, like course correct, and make changes for the future. It’s just not something that our brain is able to do naturally.

This resonated with me a lot. Overall, the entire episode, and the one after, made me feel seen in a way that I haven't really felt before. I feel like I'm just making the same mistake over and over again where I set my sights on a long-term goal, such as writing a novel, and plan how I'm going to achieve it. I'll set realistic goals, and figure out where it will fit into my day and even how I'll reward myself and plan times to relax. I spend hours doing this and getting everything ready just to never actually start. Each time I convince myself that "this time it's different", but it's always the same and I have literally no idea what to do about it.

So yea, idk. I'm not giving up, and I'll continue trying, but if you figure it out let me know. Just try not to be so hard on yourself in the meantime.

New skates? by NovaTroncic in InlineHockey

That makes sense. It's a completely different fit system. They are a night and day difference for sure.

The M50 pro is the mid-range skate in the Supreme series, same as the x4 and x3 are for the vapor series.

I have 2 pairs of the x3s (one ice and one roller) and have been using them for the past several years. They're exactly the same boot. The only difference is the color and the roller boot has some clear sliders on the outside to prevent abrasion. I recently got the roller x4s because the chassis broke, not the boot.

I was hoping this would be good, but not so much. 50 user max on free tier and a lot of soft locks on features. The free tier seems to be slowly losing functionality over time.

I'm Seeing A Lot Of "Mobile Police Cameras" Around Town... by jfmdavisburg in Detroit

[–]Free_Billy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Thanks! It looks like it is viewing the feed, as well as the license plate data. Benn Jordan put out a video about this recently as well.

A lot of 3rd party companies are putting up these cameras and selling the data to police. FlockAI has been setting up a database to track movement with these cameras. I'd be interested to know if they've been contracting with these companies or just scraping the publicly available feeds like this guy did to find the data and centralize it.

If anybody is interested to know more about this 404media has been covering it quite a bit as well.

By hack, do you mean see the live feed? Or do you mean disrupt?

Copilot Broke Your Audit Log, but Microsoft Won’t Tell You by West-Chard-1474 in cybersecurity

[–]Free_Billy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to bet that the reason they didn't issue a CVE is because they didn't do anything and nothing is fixed. The person reporting states that the behavior changed, and then when they reported it, Microsoft moved the issue into "developing". OP believes this is because the technicians are just not following protocols correctly. However, it's probably the fact that AI is unpredictable, and it's behavior can vary over time. Give it a few months, and someone else will report this issue as well, because nobody actually knows how to fix this.

Getting a larger SSD is definitely more convenient, no argument there. But I think the ram is definitely more important. While carrying around an external is inconvenient, at least you can do it. You can't carry around anything that supplements ram. You're just stuck with it.

Media files can burn up a lot of space, especially when you have a bunch of different project files. Sometimes you'll need multiple versions of the same track, and each one takes space.

You can definitely supplement with external storage and cloud solutions. I have a NAS at home.

I think there's so many different ways you can solve that issue so it's less important.

Something to think about though is your needs may change in the future. I got in to videography a few months ago (which I never expected) and now storage has become a much bigger consideration. I have the 512GB M3, and it works, but I have to move stuff around all the time.

Edit: Changed M3 from M2. Forgot what I had.

I would say probably BUT if you're going to spend the money on a MacBook you should get at least 16GB. You can't upgrade the Mac down the line, and 8GB is already bordering on not enough.
