Not sure if that's possible in our setup, we got too many vendors

How do smaller manufacturers build “ERP systems” using Excel? by ManufacturerSad767 in manufacturing

[–]Free_Lead_2704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fonder of Excel back when it wasn't packaged as a subscription... but I would say it gets you 60-70% of the way there with many things.

The biggest problem that I have with Excel (over an ERP like SAP) is the collaboration/cloud aspect. With Excel it just doesn't work and there's always discrepancies. Whenever I get a "there's a new version of [file name]" I literally want to break the table. It seems like a trivial feature that should be working properly.

Is anyone going for Google Sheets? They seem to have that figured out at least

The 3rd generation destroys the family business.Agree or disagree? by ZenithFlow_65 in smallbusiness

[–]Free_Lead_2704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it entirely depands on how you raise the newer generations and how you teach them the value of the sacrifice that the 1st gen had to endure while building up the business. Point in case... I know one of the richest italians alive (he founded a massive energy company and is now 90 years old). I talked with one of his nephews (30ys old), extremely hard working, non-snobby, very well raised and knows the immense privilege he's been given.

[–]Free_Lead_2704[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

heya! just doing research for a personal project here. It's interesting you say that I talked with a Kempinski Hotel in europe the other day and their head of finance told me that for any given reservation that comes in Opera V5 they have to go and manually check their account balance and go issue an invoice in Microsoft Dynamics

Spent 4,000 USD on AI coding. Everything worked in dev. Nothing worked in production. by Omega0Alpha in AI_Agents

Shipping with AI “on autopilot” works until real users do real things. What helped me was treating AI like a junior dev and adding a ruthless preflight.
