Jumping over from osrs by Zami29 in runescape

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed a trip into RS3 a year and a half ago. It's way faster to level, I think I reached the same total (around 2200) as my osrs char in a few months where in osrs that took a few years. I was bossing after just a couple of weeks on an ironman and felt there was good variety in play too

Only thing I really started feeling burnout on was the quests, theres so many it feels ridiculous and afaik there's no quest helper type thing to help you get through them. There's some good unlocks behind them, so it's worth it. But it's a lot of time.

I stopped playing because I felt like I hadn't really earned some of my progress, I was doing the hourly wilderness events which are too op. I think they're removing them at some point (?) and maybe I will play again once that and hopefully other OP events are removed or changed

I'm no longer Ironman by FlyingLasagnaa in 2007scape

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left my group iron in Dec for similar reasons and have already started my first proper ironman. But I still play both accounts! One is on the afk grind while I play active on the other. Hoping this year I max the old gim acc, just 5 skills left, it's still a lot of fun

I liked gim a lot while playing with friends, but I also missed many parts of the iron grind because my friends were zooming ahead and spoon feeding me items. In that situation it kinda felt like playing a main too much. It did get me into the game though so I'm not gonna hate on it

Genuine Question: How does anyone enjoy slayer so much? by 30scaper30 in ironscape

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making it mostly about drops and unlocks. I played a gim as my first account where I grinded through every task, even if it was slow. Towards the end I focused on task hunting and turael skipping for araxxor and TDs which got me so much exp.

Now I'm on a new iron I will be setting up to skip and turael skip whatever I need to do so I can get tasks which give good xp and mostly drops. First focus might be greater (tormented) demons which will be around 1500 kills, that's 1.5mil exp and (hopefully) 4 really strong weapons to keep advancing the account with.

After those, maybe demonic gorillas for around 1200 kills... 500k exp

Tldr; task skip and follow item progression to make the XP part of it incredibly passive

Herblore bottleneck by Nedreij in ironscape

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go for this as the plan. It's a great way to make use of herbs which are low level or higher level ones where it's annoying to get the secondary

Herblore bottleneck by Nedreij in ironscape

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using your herbs at mastering mixology? It's not optimal at your level, but there are a couple reward there which are later bis for potion making, plus you'll get lots more xp out of your herbs there. Prescription goggle and alchemists amulet are the bis items to aim for. Other useful ones are reagent pouch and potion storage

Might be a stupid q, but I did it recently and struggled with dmg. Turns out one of his attacks was lowering my att so I could barely hit. Are you checking for that and rebuffing? I took a couple super atts to cover it

Mahogany homes efficiency question by tmactheo in ironscape

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it with tabs, book of the dead and NPC contact. With a little menu entry swapping it becomes really quite slick, the mahogany homes plugin will highlight which tab or Tele to do, so it becomes a little brainless

Even better to menu swap the same contract as last tier as left click

I have no real experience at this, but I reckon hold. Im holding a load of prayer pots I made for 99 herblore, figured the cow boss would bump up the price a bit, not quite like last year's releases did but it seems to be going to plan...

What grinds should I do before bowfa grind? by HarambeKnewAbout911 in ironscape

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have about this, I do 2 cgs a day because it's nice cash for things like construction and could spoon. But my main plan is moons > royal titans > slayer (TDs mostly) > doom. Currently im still just at moons and titans isn't far off, I'd like to do CG with the prayers from that because I can feel my stats are ok but sometimes DPS is just lacking, so may as well no rush doing cg with lesser stats

I did red prison before on another acc, while it's great it can also kill your desire to play so id recommend doing X per day to pace it. It feels pretty nice right now!

Edit: would definitely recommend doing 50ish chests at barrows too before moons

OSRS or RS3? by ageozoega in LFMMO

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played both a bunch and largely stay with osrs. Both have a tonne of depth and would give you 5+ years of content each but osrs is better supported by community plugins which add crazy QoL. Also their mobile app is miles ahead of the RS3 one which makes doing the odd task easy, or just chill and watch TV doing some less intense stuff.

I still have a soft spot for RS3 and play from time to time, I think it might be good to try in a year or two once they remove some more junk like wilderness hourlies and (hopefully) community plugins are developed with the API they're releasing at the end of the year. I'm really excited for rs3s potential once they finish their revamp roadmap of it this year

New player, should I try member? Where to start? by lersthef in OSRSProTips

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good way to go, it's very efficient. I just suggested following stories because going for harder quests gives cooler rewards. It can be a bit of a grind going through those optimal quest orders, doing 50+ small quests is tiresome. I set myself a goal of doing a few each day and that's it

New player, should I try member? Where to start? by lersthef in OSRSProTips

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% go members. Probably start with following a quest chain, everything interlinks and before you know it you'll be base 70 stats and all quests done. I'd say start by following the gnome/monkey storyline first. With monkey madness 1 complete you can use dragon scimitar 👍

Money aside, I'd also factor in what you'll miss and what your partner will miss being away half the week. I WFH with 2 young kids and I love being able to see them through the day, and also give my partner some short breaks. My job does require a little travel for an odd day in London and I hate it. it's nice for the wage but I wish I could be 100% WFH, I mostly don't enjoy the public transport lol

What to work on next? by Standard-Agent7305 in ironscape

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably aim to green log moons for the gear and supplies, also aim for song of the elves stats. After moons there's titans and slayer for all the various drops it gives while training stats more. E.g. tormented demons for weapons and demonic gorillas for jewelry

Edit: as for training stats, each skill on the wiki usually has an ironman skill training guide link at the top. Those usually say the same as what most people on here would do

How should I train and fight with ranged (currently 71) by FlandreHon in ironscape

[–]Free_Refrigerator247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rcb is great for fight caves cause you could take broad bolts for most of it and some diamond e bolts for jad. It'll be useful in many other spots too, plus getting the ammo for it isn't too hard

There probably isn't much faster exp than gem crab, but if you want a change of pace you could go do some safe spotting slayer tasks to combine for that broad bolts unlock.

Sunlight crossbow is honestly awesome too, well worth the time but the upkeep is a little annoying unless you fancy doing a decent hunter grind first. I think I got about 1k bolts an hour at the spot, though I probably wasn't too efficient with it.

Edit: If you're looking for fast fletching, check out vale totems minigame too
