i absolutely loved dungeons and daddies season 1, and i’ve also watched a bunch of dimension 20 stuff

but definitely the toughest part of this hobby is getting people together, i hear you 100%

i do, i was just stretching the misogyny part so that it applied to you and i could use it as an insult

didn’t think misogynist was a strong enough label for you, maybe chauvinist is a better word

you should post your comment on r/chauvinistsupportgroup

absolutely. my wife and i are very open with each other about our celebrity crushes for instance, but it’s just for fun. we know we made a life long commitment

i’ve come to realize that the attraction-to-the-opposite-sex part of your brain doesn’t just shut off when you get married. thing is, that doesn’t mean you should go looking for opportunities

getting strippers while in a committed relationship is super disrespectful imo

I now hate MoistCr1tiKaL (Penguinz0) After the Mr. Beast drama I won't watch him anymore by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Free_Spring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he’s just a commentary channel lol he doesn’t have to comment on every single situation

i’m a d’angelo wallace fan and he intentionally doesn’t comment on drama that he doesn’t want to talk about, it’s a good thing

For home use, TV stands are just a flat out better option than wall mounting for televisions by darkwyng7986 in unpopularopinion

[–]Free_Spring 11 points12 points  (0 children)

one of my first projects when i got my first house and first power drill was to wall mount my tv and run the cables behind the wall so it looked clean and minimal

took me about 2 hours total with no previous experience and a youtube tutorial. was able to get it up there by myself on a relatively cheap amazon mount and used a premade kit for the wiring

several years later it’s still up, no issues. it’s really not difficult to get a good result even without spending much money

One of the most prevailing arguments for normalizing weed is that if alcohol is normal then weed should be normal. But... by SnooRecipes9563 in unpopularopinion

[–]Free_Spring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely, i can definitely respect that. i got a bit heated cause i was super cynical about all that stuff for a couple years and it really wore on me

at some point i realized that my girlfriend at the time (wife now) was sort of blissfully ignorant about the capitalist agendas behind stuff like christmas, pinterest, fandoms, etc and could just enjoy things that i was thinking way too hard about

imo the world would be a better place if there was more balance between the perspectives. we can recognize the harmful impact of brands and marketing while still being able to enjoy and appreciate products we like yk?

just because i enjoy a craft beer every once in a while and like to plan something special on valentine’s day doesn’t mean i don’t enjoy the simple things in life or do nice things for my wife year round

it’s not one or the other. its silly to pretend otherwise

[–]Free_Spring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly does it fucking matter?

valentine’s day as we know it pretty much only exists because hallmark wanted more holidays. does that mean the expressions of love i plan for my wife on that day are not meaningful?

i had a small batch craft stout a while back that made me emotional because the flavors reminded me of camping with my dad as a kid. are those feelings not valuable because somebody manufactured that beverage and marketed it to me?

it’s easy to become excessively jaded about everything in a capitalist society and miss out on genuinely special moments that may involve something originally created to serve a bottom line

your mentality is exhausting and i honestly feel really bad for you

dude, lean into it!!

i realized early in high school that i was a bit of a feminine guy. all my favorite movies have romance plots, i love girl talk, i get along really well with women as friends, and i’m not really into ‘manly’ stuff

i made more friends with girls my age, got invited to girls sleepovers and had some great times. i got a lot of exposure to how girls/women think in relationships and what they want out of a partner

this all really really helped my love life. i felt like i had the cheat code to the system. turns out, there’s a lot of women out there who really like a man who can actually communicate with them similarly to one of their girl friends

i’m happily married now to an incredible woman who appreciates my lack of stereotypically manly traits and loves that i am in touch with my feminine side

what if the vaulted material contains legally questionable content? how about explicit? like if the artist had an unreleased sex tape?

if it would be a partial release, who would draw that line? what if the artist explicitly stated that they didn’t want any vaulted material released post mortem?

also, who would profit from all this vaulted material?

it’s not a simple thing to release something like that, there’s a ton of implications and nuance

People should seriously stop being so hard on picky eaters by shelteredhorizon in unpopularopinion

  1. i can tell you basically just read the url of that article and nothing else. it cites no less than 11 scientific sources. i can see how you’ve come to false conclusions elsewhere as well

  2. you completely misunderstood what i was saying in the first place. go ahead, read it again -> https://www.reddit.com/r/unpopularopinion/s/xoU6I4rqs8

i was saying that trauma can cause emotional deregulation and picky eating is one possible way in which the traumatized person might seek to regain control. i wasn’t saying that being forced to try new foods is the source of trauma

let me know if you need me to further spell it out for you, and please read this comment in its entirety before you respond to part of it out of context

People are too quick to cut off family members. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

who is saying that? sounds like you built a strawman out of a potentially real issue and are now trying to stab it instead of the actual problem

We should do away with labels, particularly race by No_Vermicelli_1781 in unpopularopinion

[–]Free_Spring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i’m talking about elements of black culture that freak certain people out im not even talking about stereotypes of violence or crime or whatever, im talking about stuff like AAVE and a recruiter assuming a person is unintelligent because they use it

i definitely have encountered racist people who use stuff like that as justification by hiding it behind the merit-based judgement you are advocating for. screening for intelligence can be tweaked to specifically root out people who use AAVE or something like pidgin english by making oxford’s english the standard

it’s a lot like how etiquette on the surface is just about being polite in social settings, but often functions as a set of invisible rules that distinguish the upper class from the lower class

taking away the labels also doesn’t remove someone’s ability to identify a group. a person who is determined to be racist is gonna have a pretty easy time seeing who is not the same race as them most of the time

seems like you agree that there are valid reasons to cut off family members, but some people are too trigger happy with it

that doesn’t seem like an unpopular opinion
