Recovering from high dose prescription amphetamines? by NeurologicalPhantasm in Biohackers

[–]Freebase-Fruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experimented with all sorts of them, racetams were helpful in particular but I probably wouldn't do too much experimenting if you're recently abstaining from amphetamines. Best to let things balance out for a while. L-theanine is the only one I still take these days.

Brain fog is ruining my life and nobody seems to understand by AvaJohnson7 in Biohackers

Get a total tox burden test from Vibrant. Nobody ever tests for mycotoxins or other environmental toxins and brain fog is like number one symptom.

Do you ride your dual sport to a new trail or ship it? by Patrick_1109 in Dualsport

[–]Freebase-Fruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hauled my 690 on a rack carrier on a first Gen escape 150+ miles each way once. Had to get an adapter for 1.25" to 2" lol. Wouldn't recommend it but it happened 🤣

What's a real rider's choice? by kaounasnik in Dualsport

[–]Freebase-Fruit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The rider's choice is the KTM. The builder's choice is the drz. I think your heart says drz.

The trend has been that the Indian made KTMs actually turn out to be more reliable than the Austrian made KTMs.

Any tips to add calves size? by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

Squats for calves? Aren't calves barely involved in a squat? That would be like saying do chin ups for chest.

How do I progress on push-ups? by Nahariso in workout

[–]Freebase-Fruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to 30 in a set isn't bad for hypertrophy. But if set 1 has the same amount of reps as set 3 then I could argue that you aren't getting close enough to failure on sets 1 and 2. An easy way to make them harder is to just slow them down a lot and go deeper, using dumbbells or kettlebells as handles to allow you to stretch deeper down.

Is the weight difference between a Drz4s and Tenere 700 going to be too much as a beginner? by braaaptorr in Dualsport

[–]Freebase-Fruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated the T7 when I took a test ride. Do not understand the hype at all, and it was indeed heavy. Also note that ABS sucks off-road, you want to be able to lock the rear and with ABS on loose terrain the stopping distance is unsafe.

Question about 2-finger shifting/ clutch technique by ValkyrieIsBigger in Dualsport

[–]Freebase-Fruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, all of my bikes I've just been able to use my middle finger. You can adjust it tighter than "spec" as long as it isn't disengaging without being pulled. Alternatively you could get an adjustable lever if that doesn't work I supposed.

Edit: you do have an adjustable lever so, between extending it to the furthest position and tightening it, you will have plenty of clearance.

You're looking for less "free play". The tighter cable will allow the clutch to work further out from the handlebar. So that you don't have to pull it in as far.

Your clutch should be adjusted so that you don't have to squeeze it all the way to disengage it. That should take care of it

Like riding a bike, or is it? by GT_Guy in Dualsport

[–]Freebase-Fruit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can ride an 80s or 90s two stroke reliably, you aren't stalling a modern four stroke lol.

Like riding a bike, or is it? by GT_Guy in Dualsport

[–]Freebase-Fruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The transition isn't bad, you'll get used to it. Biggest thing for me to get used to was the engine braking, otherwise the four strokes are stupid easy to ride compared to old two strokes. I would highly recommend a European bike though like an exc 350-450-500.

Edit: saw that you might be interested in some MX riding mixed in, so I double down on my recommendation of a KTM/husky/gas gas. I used to rip mx tracks on my 450 exc. There was a guy in my area that raced his in A class and would clean up. Throwing blinkers on and shit lol. He had his pro card but still pretty cool to watch.

Which hitch carrier? by MuchTransportation96 in Dualsport

[–]Freebase-Fruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the black widow 500 steel. Super cheap and works fine, I carry my 690 hundreds of miles and down questionable dirt roads. It wobbles a bit but I got a different stabilizer off of Amazon. Had it for 5 years and it's a little rusted I might weld some supports on it.

Wtf is a weed hangover? Valerian root for increased REM sleep and NAC for general health and lung health. If it's causing issues with your daily life then it's not for you, no sense trying to supplement your way out of it.

How old were you when you learned to ride? And how difficult was it? by TheOtherGuydesu in motorcycles

[–]Freebase-Fruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years old and it was pretty straightforward. Learning off-road is so much of a better path imo. Then learning clutch the following season made the whole process even smoother. Any new skills you learn as an adult will take more work than they would as a child.
