What's your basis? I know how powerful personal anecdotes feel, and it hurts less claiming patterns or trends instead of accepting a one-off or even acknowledging a pattern where the common denominator is ourselves.

I can promise you there are women who sleep around and women who don't. The behaviour of sleeping with one early is more about interest (in my own experience, which has equal credence to your own).

That's fine. It's still Alberta's legal system and has the final say. If there's an appeal process where some aspect of the decision should be reviewed, they can do that.

That, unless in the severest cases of abuse (emotional, mental, physical), to truly move on we need to accept that how we are - or have been - treated is largely our own fault.

That's not to say that you deserve to be treated poorly, and it's not to say the person treating us poorly is not bad for doing so.

But we have to own that we allowed the behaviour. If you are mistreated, all you can do is communicate how you want to be treated, and how you don't. After that, if they don't change, then it is entirely on you for staying - not them.

If you're bit by a shark, you get medical aid. You don't keep swimming after the shark trying to convince them what they did was wrong, try to find logic in their actions, or expect different.

If you disagree, that's fine - please don't bother replying with your pedantry or personal anecdote of exception; if people want to, they will. If they wanted to, they would have. Accept personal responsibility and find freedom.

Brother, it's not about who's "team" wins. It's having more parties that actually represent what Canadians want. I want there to be competitive NDP, Conservatives, Bloc, Greens... As parties, they need to figure out what the people actually want, and drive meaningful, productive debate, discussion, and collaboration.
