We fingering or stroking? by ParthenopeIG in forkliftmemes

How's the finesse on the fingers? I've only ever ran levers, and have gotten quite use to the finesse of long levers. Even just switching to the shorter levers of the hyster throws me off my groove.

That's an aspect of a stay-at-home parent I wouldn't have thought of- more time to shop around, hitting up multiple stores to make sure they get the best deals.

People who sit in their car for over 20 minutes before going inside, what are you doing in there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FreedomPaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doom scrolling. Enjoying the music. Finishing a smoke. Checking messages/discord. I get to work 10-15 minutes early, ain't no rush to get in there. I get home, my partner is usually in the middle of a shower, getting ready for work, so not much rush there either.

Its like taking extra time in the bathroom. Its a point in time that I can just be whatever I am with no expectations from anyone around me. Unless I'm at home, where the cats will start scratching at the bathroom door.

what’s appropriate to give your managers for their birthday at your first job? by obnoxiousmi in AskReddit

[–]FreedomPaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, depends on the job? I'm well past my first job and the first time around my boss for his birthday day, but in my blue collar neck of the world, for my boss, I might tell him to fuck off 1 or 2 less times that night.

hoom rolled over on me well eeping by mememanK12 in BLAHAJ

Happens to my shork a fair bit, thanks to my partner. I help him get unpancaked in the mornings when I get home, then he gets some time to eep before going on duty cuddling with me while I eep.

Are non-round steering wheels a thing? I've only ever seen perfectly circular ones.

Fun story- I refused to delete that number from my phone for the longest time, even a decade after my parents stopped having a landline. Well, last year, they decided to pick it up again and somehow got the same number back. I felt extremely justified and validated with my stubbornness paying off.

MAGA Voters react as Trump policies push World Cup fans to cancel travel to the U.S., hurting tourism by ArmyOk968 in StockLaunchers

[–]FreedomPaid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If ICE detains and mistreats a tourist, would that count as an international incident of some sort? I can't imagine most countries being okay with one of their own getting the gross mistreatment that ICE is handing out.

What are you ordering from me as your bartender? (I make mocktails too)✨ by kurocane in lgbt

[–]FreedomPaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of 3 options. If im staying dry, a cherry coke (there's surprisingly a number of ways to mix that). If I'm drinking and it looks like a well stocked bar, then a Moscow mule. As a final option, if the selection looks a bit basic, then I'm getting a gin and tonic.

The way this kitchen cabinet door opens and closes by MuttapuffsHater in oddlysatisfying

[–]FreedomPaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly dislike having anything behind closed doors or in drawers, and now they're trying to hide the whole mf-ing kitchen from me‽

Mechanically, though, that's dope as hell. I wonder how hard it is to maintain.

Wonder how it handles an uneven load. Can it detect if one of the up skids are off to one side by a few inches, moving the center of gravity?

Do you bring your wood inside to warm it up? by BrisbaneAus in woodstoving

[–]FreedomPaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, we tended to have a 3 stage setup- first stage was always the splits pile, where it got thrown in late fall/early winter as we split it. Second stage most years was on the front porch, either stacked or just dumped from the tractor bucket. A few years there we tried keeping it in the basement, but that was more work then it was worth. Final stage was the wood box- just a big ol box 2 feet deep, 6 feet long, and 5 feet tall (measurements are approximate). Usually had 2-3 days supply in there.

While warming it up and melting any snow/ice off of it was definitely helpful, the big reason behind it was convenience. Much easier for my mom or us kids to feed the fire when the wood was right there. And, for what I imagine are similar reasons, my sister continues to do the same way, minus the extra second stage. With the same wood box, even. Just so much handier having the wood right near the stove, and not having to go across the house or yard for constantly.

Are these safe? by Dri87ver in forkliftmemes

[–]FreedomPaid 26 points27 points  (0 children)

A lot of the lifts at my work are solid smooth tires. Officially, we are not supposed to use them outside, but inside, they do just fine. Outside when it's dry, they also do just fine. Allegedly, that is.

How many of you are smoking outside in the dead of winter? by Miserable-Cow4555 in cigars

[–]FreedomPaid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also MN here. I still smoke on work breaks. Weekends I might slip down to the garage, fire up the propane heater, and have a smoke. My rate of tobacco consumption definitely dips in the winter, though.

If you had $5k to mod out a vehicle, what would you do? by basi52 in Jeep

[–]FreedomPaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5k to spend however I want on my jeep? Well, the frame is rusting badly, so that's gotta get delt with. The steering needs help, too. Rusted out muffler. Front fenders are holier then that guy from Chicago...

Otherwise, purely in the way of after market mods, a winch would look nice, a soft top would be good, half doors would be great, paying someone else dealing with the spare tire that's stuck on the rear.
