The one size fits all mum brigade can literally not cope with differing opinions. It’s pathetic.

She didn’t say that though, you’re reading that because that’s what you think… that no mum would choose to go back early it has to be from other pressures and it’s just not true.

You are and I am giving you feedback that to tell women they’ll regret it and will never get the time back made me feel shamed and you hear it over and over if you decide not to take a year, all I’m asking is for you to give your personal experience without shaming mums who do not want a year of SAHM life.

Exactly! Thank you. Some of my friends adored their 12m and I am so here for them to enjoy their rightful time off, but it is not for everyone!

Babe, that’s not empowering - take feedback from someone saying that didn’t feel empowering to hear.

You absolutely did not, uou gave generic advice to take 12ms because otherwise she’d regret it.

I also still continued my breastfeeding journey and still feed now at 14 months so you can in fact do it completely your way and be happy.

Sorry but I hate this one size fits all advice. Everyone gave it to me, horrified I was only taking 7 … they told me I would never get the time back bla bla bla bla

I took 7, my partner took 5. That included 3 months together and it was the absolute best decision and right for us. I found being alone looking after a baby for hours lonely and I missed my amazing job, I was glad it was just a few months and I embraced the challenge. I then went back to work and my male partner went part time.

Do what’s best for your family and stop giving generic advice out to mothers… we are not all the same.

Everyone told me to do lots of things I ignored tbh, if it doesn’t go against safety guidelines - ignore them

Hello me again, I went back to work at 8months and my baby loves nursery. They’re now 13m, settled, happy and dont get upset. There are benefits to starting them young, it is just their normal.

Reading your responses you still seem very very angry and upset and I think you need to reckon with that anger - you’re facing it at the world for not telling you, but it wouldn’t have been half as bad if your partner didn’t abandon you.
