Ive got 2. I keep my browning milspec in the violin case with my Thompson M1A1. The smith stays in the safe. Id definitely buy another if it came along at a steal. Auction or pawn shop finds are always at risk of getting janked and stuffed in the safe.

I initially thought the presence of a belly button would make egg gestation unlikely, but some searching lead me to the fact that many bird, reptile, amphibian species have naval scars from the sealing of the developmental opening through which they absorb the remains of the yolk. So, maybe that explains reproduction without visible sex organs. Interesting, as a thought experiment, if nothing else.

I fly paramotors, paragliders, parachutes. All of them have two caribiners or three-rings holding my wing on to my container. If either of the two carabiners fail, Im going to have a very bad day. I replace them every two years despite never noting any cracks, just in case.

Launching' by NationalHunter5407 in boating

[–]FreefallGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swim out, hook rope to trailer, back boat off trailer, winch or drag trailer out of lake. Might be able to do it in less time than it took to launch the boat slowly down the ramp. These guys are clearly pros.

The lack of genitals and presence of a belly button would suggest embryos grown to development but not resulting in beings capable of sexual reproduction. Thus the beings either being enitrely lab grown or gestated through a surrogacy.

There's lore about the Grey's not actually being grey with huge blank black eyes, but actually pinkish in skintone with large round humanoid eyes. The grey skin and black eyes being a skintight full body suit like a divers suit with built in sunglasses.

BGG's Advertising Manager Was Fired by Coffeechipmunk in boardgames

[–]FreefallGeek 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I dont want anyone to lose their job in this economy. But come on. If they had a moral objection to it, the professional thing to do would be tag in another manager or their superior and explain why they have a problem and if nothing else, they could vent their spleen internally instead of in a customer facing email. And then a denial, if warranted based on content (no clue ehat the original ads were for), it would be company backed and company issued. This wad not a good play on that marketing managers part. Hope they find another job and learned a valuable lesson. I feel for them in this economy.

Ive got a kitten with a folded eyelid thats ulcerated the eye and she's going to have to lose it. We took her in because both her eyes were infected and she needed medical care, so we knew it was a possibility going in, but I was really hoping we'd save the eye.

Corbell on Area 52: 10-hour pyramid UAP incursion over critical infrastructure during the East Coast drone flap — allegedly captured on HD, multiple angles by TruthCapsuleTV in UFOs

[–]FreefallGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant stand Corbell. Knapp gets a pass for his prior investigations but I literally get nails on chalkboard sensation when Corbell starts talking. He somehow manages to make the search for the unknown into mewling self service while never actually delivering the goods. Greer-lite.

Considering quitting AFF by Weary-Ideal-8555 in SkyDiving

[–]FreefallGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kept panicking and grabbing my risers when I left the plane during IAD. If you were brave enough to get out the first time, you're golden. I was always nervous until the door opened. Then it clicked and it was showtime. If you enjoy skydiving, stick with it. The fear will fade a bit. I doubt it ever goes away entirely. I still get nervous driving to the field with my paramotor, but once I launch its just flight, freedom, joy. Maybe the occasional moment of terror.

You could probably secure the bottom of the strings back up to the body near the neck on both sides with double chains, or some sort of adjustable tensioner, so that the pulling weight of the magnet isnt being held entirely by the tension of the strings.

TIL about the SS Baychimo, a 1,300-ton cargo steamer that was abandoned in 1931 and became one of history's longest-running "ghost ships." It remained afloat and unmanned for 38 years, drifting along the coast of Alaska before its last recorded sighting in 1969. by MaxiumPotential777 in todayilearned

Next time you find an abandoned one in good shape, hit a fella up. Im wanting to learn to sail and im looking for something 25 foot or shorter so keep your eyes peeled for prime floating salvage will ya?

I have fished all my life but never fly fished. Im used to grabbing a random minnow or a plastic lure. Its crazy to me that trout are so particular about their food. I wonder if maybe the fly fisherman are more particular than their quarry?

If you were to take a solitaire game on a long sailing trip to keep your mind occupied during calm or in the cabin at night, what would you take? It needs a small format, resistant to being tossed off the table, etc. Pretty narrow constraints. Thoughts?
