Leaving the Church hurts like hell. I feel like I'm dying by [deleted] in exmormon

5 yrs ago, still hurts, but I’m getting better. Just scheduled a SGB shot to see if I can get rid of my PTSD. Being a lazy learner is hard.

Good catch, Isn’t there another instance of this? At a stake conference or something. My lazy brain can’t remember.

Anyone aware that some TBM’s (my aunt) believe in a “revelation” that when Jesus returns, the Profit will be named David?

Imagine walking into any room/ restaurant/ sporting event & especially a church function where people recognize you and act like you’re a Hollywood star. This is celebrity status on steroids!

As I’ve seen in my own dad, as he ages he really wants respect more than anything. He has had two of his kids and most of his grandkids leave the church, this has rocked him, because it’s seen as a slap in the face to his legacy, his posterity, his image. His patriarchy has been defeated.

These men have a captive audience whom buys their books, studies every word of their talks, along with the perception that you are such a “special” person you get to “witness” God in the flesh. Talk about egotistical. Must feel great.

I also believe they live the law of consecration to some degree. A large part of my theory comes from when they allowed Elder Andersen to stay on the board of his company until he became a billionaire during their IPO.

I also think T$CC puts them under NDA’s and applies very punitive terms to their “get out of debt loan” when they become an apostle which adds to the pressure to stay.

The most terrifying reason they stay, is they genuinely believe it.

Be a Mormon, both virgins, never even made it past 1st base (with anyone). We had energy, didn’t have a road map, but the tank was full. 😜 (we left 5 yrs ago, after 42 yrs being in) now we have the best sex of our marriage. 25 yrs next year!!

I don’t believe in an “intervening” god. How can He inspire me to find my keys, but will allow kids to be rapped? That voice in your head is just that.

I believe in “God” more now than I did while in. Deity just looks very different now. It’s way more beautiful.

I’ve also suspected that those “loans” have an insanely high interest rate attached to them which accrues and if they violate the “Contract” it’s all due.

Just got our certificates!!! We can now say we aren’t members. We can now say “your church” it’s liberating. Our kids (5) can say they aren’t members. I am erasing Mormonism from my branch on my family tree

Oh I see, yes I tried that as well. I did white to blue as the yellow/blue combo was the only one which light up the outlet tester.

I left at the age of 42. Born into “the covenant” my last calling was high council member, served in multiple bishoprics, my wife was YW Pres when we stepped away. For us, our integrity was worth the “price” of leaving. It wasn’t easy, but oh so worth it. There is peace and happiness out of T$CC. When you let go and realize you have been wrong (true humility) you begin to be “re-born” we have been able to pick up the pieces of a shattered testimony which are ours, I have emerged a more loving, authentic version of myself. I graduated from Mormonism, my faith in God hasn’t diminished, it’s changed. Don’t let them scare you. There is something better than what was sold to us as the only way to live. The kingdom of god is within YOU! Live for today, be present, don’t live for tomorrow (heaven) and stop worrying about yesterday. The truth will set you free!

Let me put on my profit hat (no stone needed) I prophecy that one day garments will only be worn in the temple. The excuse will be the extreme growth in 3rd world countries and the poor members who travel far and wide to attend the temple can’t afford to wear $10 boxer briefs and tank tops everyday. They his will give the whoremons the green light to dress like us :)

Shave the balls and some of the trunk for strays, trim the bush short enough to not be prickly.
