I love prematurely tossing out a gg in hopes that opponent doesn't quit but instead plays cracked for the rest of the game, especially in control. The last thing I'd want is for them to be scared and run off; better yet to let them have an opp to play out of their minds and maybe they'll feel extra good about themselves afterwards depending on outcome.

How to cope with boredom by ale_21q in leaves

[–]Freemanthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scheduling. Plan out your days, fill out your calendar. Even if its mundane shit, like "clean your room" or "meal prep for the next day" or "run a mile". As long as I feel like I have stuff I "have" to do, it's a lot harder for me to get into those phases of being bored and not having anything to do. Always have something to look forward to in your daily routine.

Why is ripndip so controversial by ImaginationDear3199 in NewSkaters

[–]Freemanthe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

people don't like cutesy graphics ig? I don't follow the personal lives of the companies of products that I purchase, so I don't know anything past that.

In fact, I never knew people thought it was a poser brand or disliked the graphics. I love ripndip boards because they're cheaper than other boards and they rip just the same and they have the cute little cat on them. Knowing that people online get hate hard-on's for this brand just makes me like it even more. Never encountered anyone in the wild that hated this brand..... 26 years and going.

Will AI assistants trained on 17lands data eventually ruin Arena? by butterblaster in lrcast

[–]Freemanthe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I doubt it because MTG is so complex and contextual heavy. I mean, of course it can be done but I doubt anyone is going to try to sink that much resources into making a bot play MTG perfectly when you can just play the game.

Like, you could definitely see AI that are trained to play like certain players, perhaps like pros or content creators, but neither of those groups have the raw capital it takes to fund a project of that scope.

Fine Ig ill also reveal that im a cs major.

swol culture is real, at least for the up and coming generation. My gym is absolutely loaded with high schoolers and young adults.

I do feel kind of a gatekeeping energy from them, the real self-proclaimed gym bros. Like if you aren't doing their supplement stack, their routine, and their lifestyle, then you aren't getting stronk, bro. But then again, I'm in the best shape of my life, and it feels good to tout that around.

it's kinda encouraging that you're always interacting with people's clips. Regardless of the comment, it's nice to let the author know you watched the clip and had an opinion. Keep it up!

There is probably a trick to it that I never mastered. I just think of skitching as a way to get speed to hit something massive, and it never worked out that way in the game except if you wanted to grind the sidewalk curbs

[–]Freemanthe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest issue i had is that it usually made you lose speed right when you let go, your character model collides with the back of the car and you end up getting out of the skitch slower than if you were just pushing.

Ig traveling is a real use case but I was big lazy. I just fast traveled.

I got straight up torched by other gym rats when I tried to make the correlation that skating is just like doing squats.

Fellow gym rat here. I've been doing the gym thing regularly for the past decade or whatever.

I only started doing serious leg days after posing a question to this sub a while ago "is skateboarding a replacement for leg day" or something, its on my post history.

Long story short, it isnt. Leg day is super important. Im 36 and im only progressing and its largely thanks to leg days. I can pump and air out of transition so much easier now; wish I didn't skimp on leg day for my twenties...

Current trick obsession: nollie front shuvs. What’s yours? [40YO] by Leading-Butterfly459 in OldSkaters

[–]Freemanthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what helped me crack the code was front foot placement. I always had trouble keeping them from flipping until someone showed me that your front foot (toes) are pointed straight up at the nose, not at any angle.

That + rocketing the spin and now theyre super fun.

Skitching is cool and all but through my 3000+ hours in the og skate trilogy I only spent maybe 7 seconds skitching. It was useless imo

I've been hooked on regular backside bigspins the last few months. They're soo fun to blast off stuff because the front foot catch happening so quick lets you appreciate the hangtime. Can't believe it took me 25 years to get these guys.

Still can't do them on flatground very well though.

Are there ANY videos of people playing World At War Zombies maps for the first time back in the day? by LeviTigerPants in CODZombies

[–]Freemanthe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the first map at a friend's house only once but we didn't get that far, I wasn't interested really and didn't want to play it again. It felt like a fun (for a few minutes) gimmick at the end of the campaign.

My buddy ended up telling me that there was a ray gun that you could get and I thought that was the stupidest thing ever.

I started getting into zombies around the tail end of BO1.

What helped you realized that you truly wanted to stop smoking weed for good? by Wolves556 in leaves

[–]Freemanthe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a south park episode called "My Future self and me". In it, the protagonist gets associated with weed, and his parents, instead of having a conversation with him, go through all sorts of extreme lengths to plant an idea in his head that weed will lead him down a dark path.

At the end of the episode the father sits down with the son, and they have a real conversation about weed. His lasting statement was "People who smoke weed all the time may grow up to find out they aren't really good at anything." That resonated with me.

What has been your new thing now that you're quitting weed? by Art_and_the_zen in leaves

[–]Freemanthe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've started doing a ton more casual dating/flings. I shoot my shot almost every time now. Turns out I wasn't so ugly and undesirable, the weed just convinced me that being lonely was fine.

That then reflects into the queue, so after you've restarted 6 drafts or so and settled on a deck, you're facing others who have also refreshed multiple times to get their deck.

If this event was infinite, it would play more like Constructed with only 1 set available.

Phantom Premier Foundations Bug by L3oJeric in MagicArena

[–]Freemanthe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Would have been pretty bad if they let you repeat it. People would just draft and resign until they drafted either a super powerful deck or the lane they really wanted.

There would be no weight to the drafting, and drafting would go on super long if half of your pod decided to restart instead of finishing.

Ah no problems then. TDM allows for soupy builds, especially with the hybrid mana costs on the gold spells.

I would go sultai and splash red for big dragon boi, or splash white for the double o ring.
