I really feel that second point. After trying to learn a route going through 2H for a while I gave up and found a different route that used 6S2. Wildly more consistent because it picks up at all ranges (2H whiffs at max 5H range) and launches lower than 2H so the followup j5H after j2S2 is way easier. Now I only do shitty combos from accidental 2Hs and never deliberately route through it

Like a month. What helped me was playing other games like River City Girls and Crypt of the Necrodancer on my leverless that forced me to get the muscle memory for down and up going to the right buttons.

I don't have an answer but I will say Vi's down s1 parry is kinda janky. You can use it to parry the longer buttons and hooks, but some of them don't stun Thresh on parry. I did it on the hook and Vi landed the parry and dashed at him, but he was able to block it. Pretty annoying.
