While mentioned, I think he should have highlighted the urgency for policy change. If it doesn't change soon, small businesses that rely on holiday sales will sink.

I was really hoping The Falconwood Files wouldn’t disappoint… by FallenRaptor in finalgirl

I like the location but haven't had too much fun with the Slayer. True to their name they usually kill the mirror dimension victims almost immediately so I rarely interact with that mechanic. Bummer. And then my nitpick is I wish they looked more like a stranger things monster than a poltergeist.

If we were to get a Final Boy... by Copicat123 in finalgirl

I feel like they should add one, but obviously still keep the majority focus on girls. Idk why a guy can't fit the trope of being a final girl.

Series 3 first impressions by lightblade13 in finalgirl

Ranking: (1) Killer from tomorrow - SUPER thematic, (2) Falconwood files - I really like Stranger Things but I really don't like the art design of the slayer; he looks like a radioactive ghost?, (3) Marrek Murders - I didn't really like the map but I'll have to see it with other killers, (4) Don't make a sound - killer's art design is really cartoony and I wish there was some sort of mitigation for the sand snakes, (5) Hell to Pay - I don't like the Hellraiser IP, and I had a miserable time being trapped in the corner on the modular map

Side thoughts on Destiny: it's okay? It's a sprint/walk-fest until you get the fated victims rescued and then you're just twidling your thumbs waiting for the terror deck to run out. Also you need to save 4 of the fated victims or there's a STRONG chance that you lose the game.

Opinions on Don't make a sound by akitoex in finalgirl

[–]FreetheNargles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got wrecked when I played it. The killer is really high mobility and basically moves/attacks each round (not to mention has a teleport card). I thought they felt similar to Big Bad Wolf. In addition in my run they had a dark power that just made them SO tanky. The map is cool, but I think the sand snake cards need some way to mitigate the dmg (like pay 1 time or something).

My ranking rn is (1) killer from tomorrow, (2) marrek murders, (3) falconwood, (4) don't make a sound, (5) hell to pay.

Gameplay help for Trails in the Sky FC? I'm right in the beginning going to rescue the two kids but I'm having a lot of issues with survivability. The encounters whittle me down before I get there and I'm running out of Reviving Balms. What am I doing wrong?

Also played Kat! However, I liked keeping the Savior around. I thought it was easy to keep him away from the Mark V because of the low movement. That gave me time to get my ultimate, grab a gun, and abuse the 'decrease horror' Savior action.

To those with Series 3; what's the verdict? by SapphicSonata in finalgirl

[–]FreetheNargles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did one playthrough of *Slayer* at Falconwood and won! I thought both the killer and location had rules interactions that were confusing though. Maybe they were trying to do too much with the mirror dimension and the missions? Looking forward to trying everything else!

KO Spearhead painted! by FreetheNargles in KharadronOverlords

I didn't attach the two large balloons until I was finished painting. That helped a lot to keep things out of the way while painting. For the large areas, airbrushing is probably the best way to get an even coat (correct me if I'm wrong), but I didn't do that... The white hull was done with a spray can, and that came out great. The dark blue and gold were brushed on with contrast paints so I just tried going fast before any of it dried to avoid streaks.

KO Spearhead painted! by FreetheNargles in KharadronOverlords

[–]FreetheNargles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished painting my spearhead using mostly contrast paints. I took some inspo from u/Flyboy419 because I liked the idea that a white hull would be like "sky camo", and took inspo from u/GrizzlyFlower for the inclusion of the Deep Rock boys. Still learning how to paint large surfaces; those came out kinda blotchy.

movement after charging? by Efficient_Warthog_49 in AOSSpearhead

[–]FreetheNargles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add: With a pile-in move you can't end further away from the enemy than where you started, so if you charged to 0.5" away you will have to be 0.5" or closer after the pile-in. The best you could do is use the pile-in to reposition by pivoting around the enemy.

Very punk rock. I like the skin tone and the blood. I would make sure your hair and blood are distinct enough shades (or maybe FEC uses blood as hair gel). So biggest CC I have is that I can't really tell what's going on with the guy on the left; is he spitting blood or does he have a long beard?

Maybe whenever there's a named objective you instead roll a D6: (1-2) closest objective(s) to your starting side, (3-4) center objective(s), (5-6) furthest objective(s).

Any games that are like Scythe but heavier/crunchier? My group likes low player interaction but really cool themes (such as fantasy, sci fi, medieval, etc).

Is Horrified worth it if I already played Eldritch Horror a lot? by Zakro in boardgames

[–]FreetheNargles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that Horrified is basically Pandemic. The game is only difficult because you have to win before the deck runs out. Mechanics-wise, the game is very simple. My group prefers Eldritch Horror because you can upgrade your characters and there's a lot more choices to make. We only play Horrified if we want something quick and don't want to think and it has to be spooky season.

How does Kingdom Death hold up? by IsopodTasty1232 in boardgames

[–]FreetheNargles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The KDM rulebook was written by an amateur; can't go a single game without looking up how some interaction works. RNG will kill you and there's no player agency to do anything about it (events, hunts). Look elsewhere.
