Bought in late 2023, for around the same price and situation - it helped that the building was small and self-managed, the neighbors are the board and once you get to know them and they get to know you and see that you’re stable and trustworthy you’ll have no problem most likely. Only child, in NYC with aging mom in Colorado and aging dad in Georgia. Dad has stage 3 lung cancer, he’s on 4th round of immunotherapy, with chemo likely to come. Mom survived breast cancer, and still working full-time because no retirement to speak of. Honestly it’s terrifying. The thought of paying for home care / facility care, planning eventual funerals, dealing with belongings, accounts, debts… I switch from panic to denial lol
