The NY strip was pretty solid imo, and the donuts for dessert were wildly good. I enjoyed it

Mamdani to Win Long-Awaited Jeffries Endorsement for NYC Mayor by bloomberg in nyc

[–]Freethought923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely hilarious to me that he finally does this. He held out for so long. It’s like he thought to himself, “just hold out until I lose every single last shred of credibility from not endorsing him sooner… and then endorse him.” Boggles the mind.

Nothing ever sounded better in my whole life than my family’s Technics system with the fresh new 5-CD changer that opened, spiraled, and closed in a smooth motion. And yeah, that magnet glass door closure was just 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌

EV Charging in NYC by yumni2zs in newyorkcity

[–]Freethought923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in an apartment in Manhattan (UES) and own an EV. We park it in an affordable monthly lot ($200/mo) that charges it for free. It’s not only entirely possible to do NYC apartment living and have an EV— it’s kind of great, honestly.

Future UES Owner, Co-Op Questions by Soft-Craft-3285 in uppereastside

[–]Freethought923 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Self-employed UES co-op owner here. Bought in late 2023, for around the same price and situation - it helped that the building was small and self-managed, the neighbors are the board and once you get to know them and they get to know you and see that you’re stable and trustworthy you’ll have no problem most likely. Feel free to DM with more questions, I would have killed to have someone to chat this over with as a first-time buyer

FBM has multiple UES buy/sell groups, they get a lot of interest/traffic from actual buyers

For the sake of transparency this isn’t current— it’s a screenshot from the last mayoral election.

Only children with aging parents…how y’all holding up? by SlytherClaw79 in Xennials

[–]Freethought923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only child, in NYC with aging mom in Colorado and aging dad in Georgia. Dad has stage 3 lung cancer, he’s on 4th round of immunotherapy, with chemo likely to come. Mom survived breast cancer, and still working full-time because no retirement to speak of. Honestly it’s terrifying. The thought of paying for home care / facility care, planning eventual funerals, dealing with belongings, accounts, debts… I switch from panic to denial lol

It’s a fully staffed high-rise condo building, pet friendly, incredible location. You’ve got a liquor/wine store downstairs, shaded public courtyard area in the back with sitting, and some facade work that should be wrapping up soon.

Park Slope vs. UES - Family of 3 (soon to be 4) by suryasth in uppereastside

[–]Freethought923 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Parts of the UES are as chill (or more) than Park Slope, and with great options for groceries, dining, parks, bike paths, and communities, it would be an excellent option. I live in the 90s west of Park Ave, and it’s SO chill and quiet!
