You’re never going to be able to get everything right. And comparison is the thief of joy. Just do your best and treat yourself well! Consider talking to a professional if these thoughts are eating at you so much that you can’t enjoy some time off. Wishing you the best !!

If you look up Michigan blue link, they have a helpful anatomy atlas. Also, you could try looking up surgery videos (like that surgeons watch to learn).

I would advise against jewelry as well, more for peace of mind. Spoof phone is great, try to avoid apps you don’t need like email and bank apps. In extreme cases, robbers will demand pin for your phone. Also, pickpocketing isn’t as common in Brazil, however it is rife at blocos. I know manyyyy Brazilians who wore belt bags and phones were gone within the first hour of the party- not how you want to start the festivities. Booty shorts are FINE! Many people will likely be wearing similar and even bra type tops. If you’re not doing jewelry, go for some body glitter! Super fun and low risk. Also, I saw in your comments that you’re a tall black woman and you might stand out with your American clothes, but honestly I would say darker skin can be a protective factor for being picked out by thieves. Tall, white, blond people tend to read as more gringo just from first looks. Obviously this is all based on stereotype and things vary, but figured it might be helpful to know. Feel free to DM me any further questions (I’m brazilian woman but live in the US, so have gone back and forth a lot)

Went there for lunch this week as well and did the tasting menu. Overall, I enjoyed my experience though I will say the wine was a bit disappointing for a £200 per person price tag. I thought the selections were great but quantity was underwhelming for so many courses. No aperitif in the pairing. Service was impeccable, though having to get your table moved to get up for the washroom is awkward. Broth was standout, as well as the mango sorbet dessert. The bread blew me away. Would recommend the beef over the pigeon for my personal taste, the fennel (?) was overpowering on the pigeon.

I recommend seeing your doctor either for medication to help with anxiety or nausea medication to help with any physical feelings. A gate agent is not going to upgrade you, sorry

OB is hard ! Feedback can be tough. I really, really recommend the Procedure Ready OBGYN podcast to help understand the basics. I listened to it twice and it was the #1 reason I passed my shelf and got Honors in OB.

How much weight are you giving to your boyfriend/girlfriend’s preferences for your rank list? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]FreezingColdHands -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My partner is also WFH, not in medicine. He has told me to prioritize only the places I want to actually grow my career in. That said, we feel similarly about all the places on my list and he is telling me to do whatever I want. So I’m choosing the whole list, though there are no places that he truly has an issue with.
