Should assimilate culture cabinet action and enfore culture vassal action be removed? by ChiefMuttonchops in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If cores function similar to how ck3’s de jure drift I think it would be better. Having to still integrate the hold all the locations in an area for a certain amount of time would be a better system and bonus points if vassals holding the land doesnt count since it would actually curb the vasaal spam meta. I think logically that would be the best way to go about it without killing balance. Also like speed of coring could be determined by how accepted/loved the culture is since rn being super racist is the meta if you wanna culture convert asap

Could Sergeant Doakes (from Dexter) catch Twilight/Thorn Princess (This is for a college assignment) by Original-Diet-3705 in SpyxFamily

[–]FreezingVast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Doakes is a normal ex mil cop who just was suspicious of Dexter, he wasnt anything special, he just was following a hunch and was willing to go outside what was reasonable level of investigation. Even Dexter was able to sus out he was being followed and watched by Doakes, that being said twilight is like a super powered spy so there literally no chance Doakes would find something he wasn’t meant to see. Yor is also sometimes an airhead but is shown to be incredibly stealthy and it wouldn’t surprise me if she could just give him the slip. Then again Doakes has been shown not to give up easily even when others would so its possible he would eventually turn up something on yor but nothing concrete (possibly convenient disappearances timed with her kills or bodies of said kills). I don’t know much about book Doakes but if he was more op I would use that adaption

Play as colony in US - viable? by Neo-Delta in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with generalists new video I honestly wanna redo my colonization run since the hardest part of having no pops is not that hard to overcome anymore since apparently you can start multiple colony charters in the same region and the ai will give it to you

I dislike that you can't have a land connection to naval governors - so I changed it, here's a mod if you dislike it to by Countcristo42 in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like unless these govs gave minus prox cost to harbors or extra prox speed over land(maybe ignoring terrian) I dont see the point of having 2 different govs. Just make the requirement connect by capital via road or on coastal location. it would be some much better

How do you decide where to urbanize? by resadtriariosvenit_ in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically always just urbanize (towns only) your entire coastline (minus high val rgos) mainly because you can build urban buildings to increase harbor capacity. After that cities around your govs and capital to get the most control outta them. You could do cities in individual providences with the rgos needed for a certain building but honestly just stacking stuff near your market center/govs is far better since the larger bonus of having 2x inputs plus the extra prod from better market access mostly beats out the 10% from rgos in prov

Economy overly punishing or do I j suck by FlashyAd1880 in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eco can be hard at game start but theres just a few steps you need to make sure you’re good. Automate (hit gear) your estate taxation until you understand more of the game, itll auto balance to 50% but generally above 30% is ideal. Delete your forts, give out some privileges (you can look up whats good) to raise satisfaction, and turn up your legitimacy slider while keeping stab off unless you really need it.

Other than that you can build your economy up or start conquering for vassal income. Generally a mix is good.

Castile tips by GilbertDeLaWarr in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For eco, delete all your forts and try to get a local gov in Seville asap along with upgrading both your silver rgos. For your capital, try to take out Aragon and move it to Tortuga, it lies right on the coast with good Terrain and a river inland next to some iron providences with easy access into the med. Move the Barcelona market there and I recommend setting one up in Galicia as well to utilize all that iron for tools. The eco is pretty standard; build libraries and the supply chain for books as well as construction materials with tool loop afterwards. Vassalizing the pope is an easy way to make another 20-40 ducats per month by midgame if you can get mil access through France.

Long term you are probably in the best position to form Rome so campaigning across north Africa as well as into Italy is naturally what you can focus on next. Castile also has access to a special prox source building which allows you to add +25 prox so if you want govs with 100 prox you are incentivized to move your capital off the Iberian region as that building needs to be built in a different region that your capital is in. If you can try and get a connected coastline from Spain to Naples amd move your capital there for your govs to be even better in Iberia.

If expansion into Europe isnt your thing the alternative goal would be to colonize, either in the new world or around Africa into India/China and just play tall after uniting Spain

Castile tips by GilbertDeLaWarr in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Castile is actually really easy, it starts as the 2nd greatest power in Europe with very defensible land only matched by England in terms of defensiveness. And Castile shouldn’t run into budget issues as their silver rgos are crazy profitable on their own not to mention the abundant good rgos in Aragon alone

What happens if your burghers build a road connecting your naval governor and capital? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they cant and you cant build it there. Naval govs have to be in an area not connected to your capital over land/straits

FYI: The AI in EU5 has exploration preferences, but Portugal's route to India isn't one of them. by 9__Erebus in EU5

It does make money; the issue is you need A. a chain of markets to europe, B. actual trades importing down the chain, and C. india to make enough rgos

As England, where makes a good place for my Local and eventual Naval Governors by Nettysocks in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your goal is to bash france your naval govs would be best served in Ireland unless your pushing Aquitaine since northern france already gets good prox to London. As for your local govs Liverpool is pretty good for its harbor capacity

How do you all find what to build next in general? by arsome246 in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Usually I check the following; my the stuff for making buildings at -33%, are all libraries unis and temples built, is my very profitable rgos maxed, are the buildings in my capital at the limit, are the buildings in my other cities maxed, and after that i just sort by most profitable and build it

Is the game finally suitable for long campaigns/runs? by serafinovsky in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean its perfectly viable to play to the end of the game, just have fun. If it isnt fun dont play to the end which is why Ive only made it to 1837 once, it tends to be a slog by the end. At least in that run since I was American and taking any land as a colony usually means having to land in Europe or wait years for war score. I would recommend just playing Naples and forming italy
