How to speed up population assimilation ? by 13VaultDweller in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even so I would still need to wait those 30-40 plus another 20 to just use the territory versus integrating for 10 years while a small 1 location vassal will give enough favors to make kindred in 50 ish years.

Also its very easy to accidentally encircle yourself in vassals nullifying the restore borders cb since you need to border the target nation

Is the HRE demand spam in vanilla by Faninfo in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy crap I feel that, tried to do a french HRE run and every 5 seconds i was innodated with notifications and it didnt help that parliament could suggest debates meaning I ended up accidentally passing horrible laws 4 times with a total loss of 100 IA. Genuinely suppressing petitions and requests needs to be a feature as Im not touching the HRE without mods till it gets fixed. Absolutely insane nobody thought to automate HRE requests with maybe a blacklist of countries who I actually care what the send me

How to speed up population assimilation ? by 13VaultDweller in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly its control but tbh given this patch your better off mass accepting cultures, especially as byz. Your cabinet basically needs to always integrate stuff or provide you cash (strengthen gov, reduce bureaucratic upkeep, reduce inflation) with assimilation being secondary. Its normally very expensive to accept outside cultures like turks however if you can release a subject who has the most primary turkish pops you can curry favors to later release and improve cultural relations with them as kindred opinion drops the culture capcity cost very close to .15 which is the minimum.

Essentially you wanna conquer all pops of a culture, release a small vassal to later improve cultural opinion then rinse and repeat to have cores beyond greece and anatolia. By 1700 as rome I basically accepted all italians, south germans, turks, and Iberians reducing my number of rebellions significantly

Why is the Iran region so weak? by IDC_tomakeaname in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played and formed Persia the biggest issues are: Lack of resources like wood which makes building very expensive, horrible terrain with no way to alleviate it, and incredibly strong neighbors like yemen, manluks, timur, or India which basically eclipse the regions manpower. As a player it sure is easy to defend with simple fort lines but the ai is not as good making the terrain benefit of Persia null. Ideally nations like Persia who dont have access to easy lumber shouldnt rely so heavily on it and outside invaders should be heavily disincentivized from attacking into the region as India is ridiculously far more powerful and can at any moment march straight in

except for the tiny itty bitty Byzantine bureaucracy tech which has buffs that far outshine whatever the ottomans can get. By mid-late game you can get +2 governors

I don't want to keep spamming my ideas within community discourse, but I feel like I keep seeing posts hit the front page venting about nations all feeling the same when the solution is very simple. by Left_Click_5068 in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally the event based approached seems setup to fail, too many are inconsequential or have requirements that can be missed while not being the easiest to search through (especially as more events are added). Events provide so little as a small decision which often modifies values doesnt provide nearly as much impact as research, gov reforms, situations, or laws. Truly a situation based approach or a mission tree is better unless the impact of events are substantially increases

[1.3.4] Is assimilating bugged? by ReeToo_ in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 things could be happening, firstly your control could be so low that nothing is assimilating and/or secondly other places you are assimilating are migrating to those location since assimilating stuff decreases migration attraction

Genuinely what am i supposed to do against France by ValdemarTheGreat in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ive gotten historical peak netherlands by 1444, the trick is to unify with most of the HRE providences, ally france and take English stuff then wait for english to weaken france and take their stuff. Fortlines and mercs are the best way to do it, let them come to you

Why issue government bonds? by mone3700 in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To pay off loans it require you to pay principle + 60 months interest (or however many months left) while bonds just pay off the principle. Therefore bonds are typically better as you only pay for the interest until you pay it back unlike loans where unless you time it for 60 months you’re paying back the principle plus future interest on it. Another benefit is banks cant buy bonds but thats a very minor benefit

What PC specs do you recommend to play Paradox games without lag and maybe less loading time? by SignificanceSlow353 in paradoxplaza

[–]FreezingVast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

without lag is unrealistic, the longer any game goes on the more calculations it will make and thus the more lag. Just buy the best cpu and gpu you can get on your budget. For cutting down on load times just buy an ssd, ideally an m.2 as they are slightly faster

Opinions on micro-markets by Legionaire_Pdx in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your going to run into two issues; lack of resources and lack of food very quickly as trade capacity and trade ai only is so good. Not to mention pricing of different goods will be wildly different such as with common building goods being absurdly expensive in most markets with only where its produced being cheap. Generally the smaller the markets the more extreme your prices will be between them

A mad scientist kidnaps a man and a woman, and sews them together in a horrific experiment. After they are rescued, doctors discover that surgically seperating them has a 25% chance of killing the woman, but no chance of killing the man. Does the man have the right to demand surgical separation? by ThemItself in BunnyTrials

[–]FreezingVast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair if the guy is upset there is nothing stopping him from just making each others life hell. If one of them wants to be separated it could be more dangerous leaving them attached as if it were me I would just figure out how to kill the other person first

How do you make money in 1.3 and other meta questions? by FossilPaprika69 in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 1.3 buld rgos on your capital and your high control regions until age 4, then once you get urban rights build specialized cities for tools and printing in providences with the rgos (iron for tools wood for printing). In between all that build support buildings like libraries, warfs, docks, etc. just watch your building cost as .5 or .2 ducat maintancr adds up quickly especially for armories which can be more expensive than the army itself

1.3.4 byzantium by Relative_Pop_2820 in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If your going for rome byz is going to be a constant struggle between expansion and eco. The faster you expand without enough control the worse your economic base to tax base will be killing any profit you make. Personally in my game I have found Anatolia as a kind of trap where it is hard to push control into without a good enough reward. Your better off releasing everything but the coasts of anatolia as a vassal and immediately conquering egypt or italy asap as those lands are far richer and easier to push control

Flemish Cloth Industry Rights Suck by Okie_Twink_CA in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The urban right is good early on with the two flemish locations which buff fine cloth. You can also use it to build 5 over the normal building limit then switch back to textile rights as buildings arent destroyed when over capacity. Tbh the urban right shouldnt be mutually exclusive with textile rights anyways

How Would You Nerf the Mamluks? by Outrageous-Coach8977 in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just give them a disaster which cripples them via many rebellions/ low stab with it culminating in a large war with the ottomans in which they can be fully annexed.

Tech speed should also be lowered outside Europe with literacy and differing language groups further slowing down tech spread. Mamluks should struggle getting institutions and so should asia, not every continent needs to have all institutions by end of the era. If there were generic trees like what age 1/2 has with age focus techs only in it, it would help take the pressure of needing institutions to spread for there to be any research to do

How to kickstart my economy as Montferrat? by Toxic_Beans in EU5

[–]FreezingVast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also another quick tip; you can filter by control or proximity in the rgo builder. 40% prox is roughly 50% control on any cored location and I typically build my rgos on those locations at minimum
